Another mostly sunny, hot and humid weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Thursday July 20 2017

Thursday was another mostly sunny, hot, and humid day with no rain. Only a few scattered fair-weather cumulus dotted the sky at times in the heat of the afternoon. The temperatures rose up to the opprressive low-mid 90s about the same as yesterday after lows in the mid 70s during the early AM hours. Now at 0555 we have partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the muggy upper 70s. The minimum temperature from the VP2 in the shelter on the ground nearby (74.8°) was recorded at 0520 while the maximum temperature (93.1°) was recorded at 1712. Dew point temperatures rose again from yesterday, ranging from 77° to 72°. Relative humidity values were about the same as yesterday (92% – 50%).  Barometric values were lower than yesterday, ranging from 30.03″ at 0935 to 29.89″ at 1840.

Remember now you can get the new VP2 location data on Weatherlink.  You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444

I woke up in the late morning and took a shower in preparation of my friends Laura and Chris picking me up and taking me out to lunch at LA Kitchen and Bayou Bar for the start of my 67th birthday celebrations, culminating on the actual birthday date of July 29. It was a great lunch, with “The Works” Etoufee, boudin, red beans and rice, Abita amber, fresh biscuits, then beignets and sweet potato pecan pie for dessert. On the way back to my apartment, Robin even briefly face-timed me from Nevada. I came back to the apartment and rested a bit as I got the after lunch drowsies. Then in the early evening I went to the weekly trivia game in the next building over. It was a fun time there also, as my day was unusually busy. Tomorrow will also be busy with 2 activities planned. I had a quiet rest of the evening, and did finish up the rice a roni and crab cakes left over from yesterday. I also spoke to Tracy on her way to work. Later I continued to work a bit more on catching up my weather data and downloading pictures from the trip. Just can’t do it all in one day. I continue working on “Weatherquack” items, as I am having a few minor issues with the posting of my daily weather on the blog I hope to see many of you on Weatherquack http://www.weatherquack.com real soon – it is completely free and easy to use once you complete your registration and a short ramping up period. I also drank some H2O from my ginormous water bottle throughout the evening and early morning hours.

We now have partly cloudy, muggy but dry skies with temperatures in the upper 70s at 0555.  Sunny with scattered clouds at times, hot and dry on Friday with highs in the low-mid 90s with a 10 POP for rain and lows in the low 70s, then a mostly to partly sunny Saturday, with highs in the mid 90s and lows in the mid 70s, we have only a 20 POP for showers/storms. Partly sunny and still hot on Sunday, with highs in the low 90s, and lows in the low 70s and a 20 POP for showers/storms. Monday should be a tad cooler but still hot with partly cloudy skies and a high temperature of about 90° and lows in the upper 60s and a 20 POP for rain. Cooler temperatures should kick in the rest of next week hopefully.

On Channel 4 radar at 0555, the Eastern US is generally free from any rain echoes at this time. The closest rain action is over parts of IL and IN.
