A sunny, hot, dry weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Monday June 12, 2017

A sunny, hot, dry weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Monday June 12, 2017

It is early evening Tuesday and I just now am going to be able to post my Monday daily wx message. As explained below my internet, cable TV and land-line phone went out just after midnight obs, and did not come back on till well after I went to bed around 4 AM. I am sending the post below out now as it existed when I compiled it early this morning. I will make another post for Tuesday’s wx at hopefully my usual time early Wednesday morning.

Monday was another sunny, hot and dry day. High temperatures rose today with plenty of sun, topping off in the low 90s after an early AM min in the lower 70s. My newly acquired Taylor Max/Min thermometer topped off at 98.1°, too warm as the sensor is not shielded from the sun yet, which does reach my balcony in the morning hours with a NE exposure. At about 0300 we have clear skies with temperatures in the mid 70s. The minimum temperature (72.3°) was recorded at 0605 right around sunrise once again and the maximum temperature (90.7°) was recorded at 1543. Dew point temperatures rose some more again today, ranging from 70° to 63°. Relative humidity values were just about the same today as yesterday (79% – 42%).  Barometric values lowered a bit from yesterday, ranging from 30.12″ at 0906 to 29.98″ at 1907. The picture looking out to the NE from my balcony just prior to sunset is attached to this email as it was yesterday.

Remember that you now can get the balcony location data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444

First off, my internet, phone and TV went down soon after midnight obs time tonight, and Comcast says the general outage won’t be fixed till about 0600.  I will be going to bed relatively early tonight as a result, also helped by getting up in the late morning hours for my cleaning engineer to do her once a month job here in the apartment and being quite tired most of the day due to less sleep than usual.  I did get up in time, had a bowl of cereal with slices of banana and a cup of coffee and did some last minute organizing before Loly came, albeit a bit late. I worked on email a bit and watched some of the Cavs/Warriors NBA Finals playoff game, won by Golden State so they are the World Champs of basketball. I also watched some baseball and wrestling. Dinner was home-made beef stroganoff over No Yolk Noodles, cooked in the crockpot for several hours after preparing the ingredients for inclusion. It had onion soup in it, along with mushroom soup, low sodium beef broth, chopped onions, mushrooms and garlic, and some worchestire (sp?) sauce. I have plenty left over for another meal.  I also had some hot and spicy low sodium V8 before dinner. I also drank a good part of my ginormous water bottle throughout the evening and early morning hours.

We now have cloudy skies with temperatures in the mid 70s at 0330.  Tuesday should be similar to Monday, with highs in the low-mid 90s under sunny skies with scattered cumulus clouds from time to time, with increasing humidity. Lows will be in the low 70s. Wednesday looks to be partly cloudy and stormy/showery (70 POP) with highs in the mid 80s and lows in the mid 60s with a 70 POP for precipitation continuing till at least midnight . Cooling off a bit on Thursday with highs in the upper 70s and a 50 POP for showers, lows in the mid-upper 60s under partly cloudy skies. This unsettled pattern should continue through the weekend, with a 50 POP for showers/storms off and on.

Due to the loss of internet connectivity,  updated radar is hard to get right now.  There doesn’t appear to be any showers/storms in the nearby areas at the last time I could check about 3 hours ago at midnight.

As of 0336 EDT, there is limited real-time data available from my VP2 balcony unit and the Lakewood Country Club WXBug station. I do have more complete data from USG and my new Taylor thermometer:
