A sunny, hot, dry weather update for West Rockville Maryland on Sunday June 11, 2017

Sunday was a sunny, hot and dry day. High temperatures rose today with plenty of sun with temperatures topping off in the low 90s after an early AM min in the upper 60s. My newly acquired Taylor Max/Min thermometer topped off at 97.2°, too warm as the sensor is not shielded from the sun yet, which does reach my balcony in the morning hours with a NE exposure. At about 0430 we have clear skies with temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s. The minimum temperature (69.0°) was recorded at 0552 right around sunrise and the maximum temperature (90.2°) was recorded at 1618. Dew point temperatures rose today, ranging from 68° to 61°. Relative humidity values were just about the same today as yesterday (79% – 41%).  Barometric values raised some more from yesterday, ranging from 30.14″ at 0442 to 30.04″ at 1829. A picture looking out to the NE from my balcony just prior to sunset is posted as my featured image of the day.

I got up in the late afternoon to take a shower and get some cleaning up done around the apartment prior to my cleaning engineer Loly coming here late Monday morning. I ran quite a bit of recycling downstairs to reduce clutter caused by the grocery deliveries over the weekend. For a late brunch I had a nice bowl of cereal with a banana and a cup of coffee.  I worked on email a bit and watched a good bit of another very enjoyable Yankees/Orioles game (enjoyable because my beloved Yankees really put on another HR/hitting barrage, winning the game 14-3). Dinner wasn’t much tonight, only  seafood and crab salad on a toasted everything bagel, along with more deli potato salad and a few pepperoncini. I also had some hot and spicy low sodium V8 before dinner. I also watched some of the exciting conclusion to the Stanley Cut Finals, won in 6 games by Pittsburgh with tonight’s 2-0 game.  I also drank a good part of my ginormous water bottle throughout the evening and early morning hours.

We now have totally clear skies near sunrise with temperatures in the lower 70s at 0445.  Monday and Tuesday should have highs in the mid 90s under sunny skies with just a few scattered clouds from time to time, with increasing humidity. Lows will be around 70°. Wednesday looks partly cloudy and stormy/showery (50 POP at this moment) with highs in the mid-upper 80s and lows in the low-mid 60s. Cooling off on Thursday with highs in the mid-upper 70s and lows in the low 60s under partly cloudy but dry skies.

According to Channel 4 radar, there are just a few areas of rain in the Eastern US and up in Canada – showers mostly in the northern part of the Lower Michigan peninsula and scattered areas in Ontario and Quebec plus a few scattered showers in Florida and Texas, mostly just offshore in the Gulf of Mexico.
