A partly to mostly cloudy, cooler, dry and somewhat breezy weather update for West Rockville Maryland on Tuesday June 6, 2017

Tuesday was partly to mostly cloudy, breezy at times but dry and a bit cooler and less humid than Monday. High temperatures were once again muted by a lot of clouds and cooling northeast breezes with temperatures topping off in the mid 70s. At about 0430 we have cloudy skies with temperatures in the upper 50s to around 60°. The minimum temperature (63.1°) was recorded just before obs tonight at 2350 and the maximum temperature (74.1°) was recorded at 1411. Dew point temperatures dropped today, ranging from 65° to 53°. Relative humidity values lowered a bit today (90% – 46%).  Barometric values were roughly the same as yesterday, ranging from 29.84″ at 2229 to 29.66″ at 0343.

I got up in mid-morning briefly for a conference call then went back to sleep for a few hours till mid-day when I got ready to go to Kaiser for my podiatry (pedicure) appointment. It is just too difficult to cut my toenails! Mike took me there and back. Then I had some cereal and a banana for a late brunch along with a good cup of coffee.  I watched a bit of baseball and wrestling then started working on dinner. I made lasagna from scratch, which was better than the last time as I remembered my mistakes and was not missing any essential ingredients. It really was delicious, and I have a bit more than half of the casserole dish left for one or two dinners.  I figure I can make it two if I make a salad with it.  I also had some hot and spicy low sodium V8 before dinner and a few triscuits later on in the evening. I continued  to  work a bit more on the newly “hatched” Weatherquack weather website which should be fun in the coming months. I hope some of you out there will join in the fun – it is completely free and easy to use once you complete your registration and a short ramping up period.  I also drank a good part of my ginormous water bottle throughout the evening and early morning hours.

We now have cloudy skies with temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s at about 0445. Wednesday looks to partly cloudy and cool, with highs in the upper 60s and a 30 POP for rain. Thursday looks to be partly cloudy, a bit milder but dry with highs in the low 70s on Thursday with lows in the low 50s.  Friday starts a very significant warmup with scattered clouds and a high temp around 80° and a low in the upper 50s. Saturday climbs into the mid 80s with lows in the low 60s under sunny skies that will lead into maximum temps in the low 90s on Sunday with lows in the mid 60s under sunny skies. Early next week looks even hotter, with highs in the mid 90s and lows around 70° under sunny, more humid skies.

According to Channel 4 radar, there are some light, scattered showers in the area. Also well to the south is more general rain, but way down in southern North Carolina and points south and west of there.
