A cloudy, cooler, humid, showery weather update for West Rockville Maryland on Monday June 5, 2017

Monday was mostly cloudy, not as warm but more humid than Sunday. Light showers fell in the early afternoon (0.13″ – max rain rate 0.07″/hour at 1333). High temperatures were muted due to the clouds and light rain with temperatures topping off in the mid 70s. At about 0400 we have partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the mid 60s. The minimum temperature (68.6°) was recorded just before obs tonight at 2324 and the maximum temperature (76.1°) was recorded at 0000. Dew point temperatures rose some more today, ranging from 70° to 63°. Relative humidity values were higher than yesterday (87% – 63%). Barometric values lowered today, ranging from 29.79″ at 0012 to 29.65″ at 2243.

I got up in the late afternoon as I got another good uninterrupted period of overnight sleep, complete with a wild dream about a long walk in the woods where I used to live, meeting up and walking with some people who I didn’t know, and then getting into a real mess crossing the train tracks that were flooded. I did catch up a bit on my words with friends games and checked on messages from bed before I got up. I took a shower, then started a dinner thereafter, which was really good – Mrs Paul’s Crab Cakes, baked in the oven with fresh squeezed lemon, plus cheddar broccoli rice a roni embellished with two big mushrooms (sliced), along with a big pile of cut green beans (microwaved).  I also had regular low sodium V8 before dinner and a few triscuits and a klondike bar for dessert.  I watched  bit of baseball, hockey and wrestling action.  I continued  to  work a bit more on the newly “hatched” Weatherquack weather website which should be fun in the coming months. I refined my daily weather post on the blog, getting a nice picture included, plus a few other miscellaneous items tied up.  I hope some of you out there will join in the fun – it is completely free and easy to use once you complete your registration and a short ramping up period.  I also drank a good part of my ginormous water bottle throughout the evening and early morning hours.

We now have partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the mid 60s at about 0400. Tuesday looks partly cloudy with only a 20 POP for rain, with highs in the mid 70s and lows in the mid 50s. Wednesday and Thursday looks cooler (so nice!!!) with highs in the mid 60s on Wednesday and low 70s on Thursday with lows in the low 50s both days with a 40 POP for showers on Wednesday reducing to a 10 POP on Thursday under partly cloudy skies. Friday starts a warmup that will lead into maximum temps in the 90s starting on Sunday. I am not looking forward to that at all.

According to Channel 4 radar, there is a line of showers/storm running through central PA and parts of NY heading east towards NJ and New England, so they will not affect my area. There also are some showers out in the Atlantic Ocean off the North Carolina coast.
