The heat and high dew points from July have left us as significant high heat continues to stay away so far in August. Dew point temps remained high during the first half of the period, peaking well into the 70s most days but lowered mostly into the low-mid 60s during the last half of this period.  This mid-month period’s rains (5.06″ total) generally were from the left over moisture from  Isaias’ visit back on August 4. Partly cloudy, a bit warmer temps with a return southerly flow marked the conditions for Monday. The high temperature (mid 80s) for the day was reached in the mid-afternoon after early morning mins in the low 60s.  Dew point temperatures were at their lowest around 60 degrees in the very beginning of the day, then rose gradually through the 60s to an upper 60s by evening.     October 2018 was warm and dry. It was the driest month of this year since 1.62″ was recorded in March. This reversed the generally wet pattern of the past months, particularly the July-September period.
