Saturday started out cloudy, cool, and with light showers around sunrise (0.09″). Slowly the clouds cleared out partially by mid-day and was partly cloudy, cooler, and drier the rest of the day. High temps reached the mid 50s by mid-afternoon, after reaching an AM min of 49.0° @ 0725 but noting the daily min was not reached till 2355 when it lowered to 45.5°.  Dew point temperatures remained in the 40s all day. 

Saturday’s max temperature was 56.1° at 1553. 

Saturday’s min temperature was 45.5° at 2355. (AM Min temp 49.0° at 0725)

Dew point temperatures ranged from a high of 49° @ 0941 down to a low of 40° @ 2146.

Relative humidity values ranged from a high of 92% @ 0733 down to a low of 58% @ 1649.

Barometric pressure ranged from a low of 29.82″ @ 0250 up to a high of 30.19″ @ 2353.

Please remember that Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge. I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4″ CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my “official” precipitation total each day.

Saturday had 0.09″ of light rain in the early AM between about 0540 and 0640. October 2018 has now had 1.01″ of rainfall at my location so far with my year-to-date precipitation at 49.43″.

Overnight Friday into Saturday turned cloudy, with light rain just before sunrise. Temps dropped through the low 50s into the upper 40s just after the rainfall ended. Dew points dropped a bit through the 40s with the onset of the rain showers. 

Saturday was dry for most of the day after the early AM rain, with slowly clearing skies (partially). High temps reached the mid 50s by mid-afternoon, dropping into the mid 40s by midnight observation. 

Overnight Saturday into Sunday skies became cloudy and held in the mid-upper 40s with the dew points holding several degrees below the air temperature in the low-mid 40s.  During the day on Sunday skies should partially clear once again, with highs in the low 60s and lows in the mid 50s. 

Monday looks to be cloudy and milder with a 70 POP for AM light rain, with highs in the low-mid 70s and lows in the upper 40s.

Tuesday looks to cool down again into the upper-mid 50s for highs, mid 40s for lows with partially cloudy skies. 

Wednesday should be sunny with highs around 60° and lows around 40°.

Thursday should also be sunny but cooler, with highs in the mid 50s and lows in the upper 30s. 

Our first freeze/frost still looks to be a few weeks away, as it has been trending later in the fall over the past few years.  Mountain areas out in WV above 3500 feet had some light snow on Saturday AM, very close to the average first snow at my friend’s place on Canaan Mountain WV at 3715′ elevation. Other lower elevations in the WV, VA, and MD mountain region have had some isolated spots of frost/freezing temps on Saturday night. 

Early fall color change has been minimal so far, but starting to ramp up. What I hope to see more of by the end of this month is reflected in today’s featured image, taken around the Island Pond area of Brighton VT earlier this month. 

Currently at 0940 the temperature is 49.6°, dew point temperature 45°, relative humidity 84%, and barometric pressure at 30.29″ and rising. 

Currently I have cloudy and cool conditions with temps around the 50° mark.
