You can get my VP2 data on Weatherlink. I have migrated over to Weatherlink 2.0 so I have a new link for my data. You can now access the data through:

I am posting daily to weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time.

The web address for my data on weather underground is:

I contribute daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 on https://www.cocorahs.org/

Please remember that Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge. I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4″ CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my “official” precipitation total each day.

Friday had no measurable rain. October 2018 has had 0.92″ of rainfall at my location so far with my year-to-date precipitation at 49.34″.

Overnight Thursday into Friday was clearing out, cooler, and drier. Dew points dropped from the mid 60s through the 50s by early AM and upper-low 40s by mid-day.

Friday was beautifully sunny, notably cooler and drier, with highs in the low 60s during the afternoon and lows falling to around 50° by midnight observation. Overnight Friday into Saturday skies became cloudy from a small clipper system to the NW, with temps holding around the 50° throughout the period. Light showers are in the region, but nothing measurable has fallen so far at my station.

Saturday should be partly cloudy with a 70 POP for AM showers, with highs in the upper 50s and lows in the low 40s.

Sunday should remain cool and dry, with highs in the low 60s and lows in the low 50s, and AM clouds and PM sun.

Monday looks partly cloudy and milder, with highs in the low 70s and lows in the upper 40s and a 40 POP for AM showers.

Tuesday looks to cool down again into the upper 50s for highs, mid 40s for lows with AM clouds and PM sun. Wednesday should be sunny with highs around 60° and lows around 40°.

Our first freeze/frost still looks to be a few weeks away, as it has been trending later in the fall over the past few years. Mountain areas out in WV and VA above 3500 feet might see a few wet snow flakes this Saturday AM, as so far very early on this Saturday AM as near as I can tell no snow has fallen at my friend’s place at Canaan Mtn Summit (elevation 3715′).  Other lower elevations in the WV, VA, and MD mountain region might have a shot at a frost or freeze this weekend.

Early fall color change is minimal so far, with only spotty locations showing any. What I hope to see more of by the end of this month is reflected in today’s featured image, taken in a slightly foggy view of Barton Hill in Barton VT last week.

Currently at 0542 the temperature is 50.1°, dew point temperature 47°, relative humidity 90%, and barometric pressure at 29.89″ and rising. A light shower has just begun at my station (0.01″ in my VP2 tipping bucket – the streets are wet).

Currently I have cloudy, cool, light showery with temps around the 50° mark.

Good morning from the Walrus early on this Saturday.

Kevin
