Tuesday started out clear/sunny and cool. Increasing clouds in the afternoon yielded to threateningly cloudy skies in the evening, as a cold front rushed through from the north. Storms nearer the PA border were quite strong in places, but I got no rain out of the dark, menacing clouds around sunset (see today’s featured image). Temperatures started out in the mid 50s in the early AM and rose into the upper 70s by mid-afternoon. Overnight into Wednesday clear skies and cool temperatures came back with readings falling into the upper 50s by sunrise. The Tuesday maximum temperature was 78.2° @ 1538, while the Tuesday minimum temperature dropped to 55.0° @ 0557. The dew point temperatures stayed relatively low all day, ranging from a low of 53° @ 0600 up to a high of 60° @ 0930. The barometric pressure readings dropped off a bit from Monday – the highest being 29.84″ @ 0720 down to a low of 29.70″ @ 1620. The relative humidity values were about the same as Monday, ranging from a low of 48% at 1415 up to a high of 93% at 1820.

Tuesday was partly cloudy and pleasantly dry most of the day, with a reinforcing shot of cooler air coming in from a cold front to my north. Wednesday should be partly cloudy and cooler, with highs in the mid-upper 60s and lows in the mid 50s. Thursday should be partly cloudy with highs in the mid 70s and lows around 60° and dry. Friday should warm up into the mid 80s under partly cloudy skies, with lows in the mid 60s. Saturday should continue warm with partly cloudy skies and a 40 POP for PM thunderstorms, highs in the mid 80s, lows in the low 60s. Sunday looks to cool off with partly cloudy skies, highs in the low 70s, lows in the upper 50s, and a 40 POP for scattered thunderstorms.

The Lakewood rain gauge recorded 0.00″ of precipitation on Tuesday. June is still showing 4.29″ for the month with the 2018 year-to-date (YTD) amount at 30.32″. I definitely continue to believe that at times the great disparity between the Lakewood WX Bug station precipitation amount total for the month and year and my cocorahs gauge based data is that the Lakewood precip values are estimated/adjusted from radar.
