Partly cloudy, a bit milder update for West Rockville Maryland on Monday, March 26 2018

Monday was partly cloudy, a bit milder but still hit freezing in the early AM (through 3/27 23 of 27 days have had freezing mins this March). It was still breezy at times. Temperatures rebounded some after the sub-freezing 30° minima to reach the mid 40s by mid-afternoon. The Monday maximum temperature from the VP2 (46.7°) was recorded at 1543 while the minimum temperature (30.7°) was recorded at 0726. Dew point temperatures continued to moderate early but then dropped off by late morning, ranging from a high of 32° at 0000 down to a low of 24° a bit later at 1132. Relative humidity values were roughly the same as yesterday (89% – 45%). Barometric values continued to soar, ranging from a low of 30.58″ at 0000 up to a high of 30.72″ later at 1117. That appears to be the peak reading for this HIGH pressure system, as readings have been dropping slowly ever since the high value was reached, now at 30.59″ at 0520.

Remember now you can get the VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444

I am posting daily to weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time. The web address for my data on weather underground is: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDrockv200#history/ I contribute daily to cocorahs as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 on https://www.cocorahs.org/ Please remember that Weather Underground does not report snow data, and reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge. I use the data I post to cocorahs as my “official” precipitation total each day.

Overnight Monday into Tuesday skies clouded up ahead of a warm frontal passage later on Tuesday. Temps dropped off through the 30s most of the night, but now are starting to rise. Tuesday should feature highs in the mid 40s under cloudy skies and lows above freezing (around 40°) and a 50 POP for PM showers. Wednesday should be cloudy with a 50 POP for PM showers, highs in the low 60s and lows in the upper 40s. On Thursday a few more showers (in the AM mostly – 70 POP) with clouds clearing out a bit to warm the temps into the mid 70s, which if it pans out will be the warmest temps for the month. Lows in the low 50s to remain mild all day. Partly cloudy on Friday with just a 20 POP for an isolated shower, a bit cooler with highs in the upper 50s, lows in the upper 30s. Mostly sunny on Saturday, wrapping up the month of March, with highs around 60° and lows in the low 40s.

At 0824, The Channel 4 weather and weatherbug websites radar is not coming up very well. From what I saw briefly on TWC radar, rain showers with some snow and mixed precip on the eastern edge is heading east from the Ohio/KY area towards our area to give us our PM showers.
