A cloudy, cooler, rainy weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Wednesday October 11 2017

Wednesday was a cloudy, cooler, occasionally rainy day (0.50″), particularly late in the evening when most of the daily rain fell, peaking at a rain rate of 3.37″/hour at 2338 EDT. Temperatures stayed in the low 70s in the AM hours, then started to drop down eventually into the mid 60s by evening. Dew points ranged from the 70° (early) down to the mid 60s (late). Now at 0846 we have cloudy conditions with temperatures in the lower 60s with dew points in the low 60s. The Wednesday minimum temperature from the VP2 (64.7°) was recorded at 2337 while the maximum temperature (73.9°) was recorded at 0000 in a topsy-turvy kind of day. Dew point temps ranged from 70° (early) down to 64° (late). Relative humidity values increased a bit from yesterday (97% – 85%). Barometric values lowered a bit today, ranging from 30.07″ at 0010 down to 29.99″ at 1548.

Remember now you can get the VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444. I am also now on weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time.

I was up in the mid morning to go to the Dentist courtesy of the free apartment shuttle (and back). I had about an hour long appointment as I had a cavity to get worked on. Thank goodness for novacane!! I had to wait for about an hour for the driver to pick me up and return me back to my apartment. I had a banana and breakfast bar before going to the dentist and a bowl of cereal and another banana with coffee after the dentist trip was completed. I spoke quite a bit from Ray and prepared a number of emails for him to pick up at his local library on Thursday. I face-timed with Robin from her car early in the evening but she was exhausted so her plan to face time later with Gideon didn’t materialize unfortunately. I prepared a nice dinner of baked salmon garnished with lime and a few veges, and rice a roni with added mushrooms. I watched parts of the the Nats playoff game in Chicago in light rain, won by Washington 5-0. Just as that game was finishing, the Yanks/Indians game was starting – Great timing!. And in an exciting game brokenopen in the 9th inning with 2 added runs, New York beat Cleveland 5-2 to win this division series 3 games to 2. I had a few triscuits later in the evening. I also caught up some on my email and facebook communications throughout the evening. I started to work on some weather materials I go in the mail on Monday, including a pretty blue storm glass and a 4 year weather journal I got from the Old Farmer’s Almanac. I had some spicy V8 around dinner time along with my vitamins and ice water.

We now have a cloudy sky at 0846 Thursday. Generally cloudy/showery and cooler weather should follow on Thursday and Friday with high temps in the mid 60s and lows in the 55° to 60° range. Right now a 20 POP on Thursday, and a 30 POP on Friday under cloudy to partly cloudy skies. On Saturday warmer temps into the upper mid 70s and lows in the low 60s with cloudy skies and a 70 POP for rain all day. Sunday should warm into the low 80s under partly cloudy skies with lows in the mid 50s.

On Weatherbug at 0846 the radar is showing the rain showers have moved off to the ENE, and are mostly offshore and over most of NJ and coastal areas of NY at
this time.
