Partly to mostly cloudy, a bit cooler update for West Rockville Maryland on Sunday, March 25 2018

Sunday was partly to mostly cloudy, a bit cooler due to the cloudiness but still hit freezing in the early AM (through 3/26 22 of 26 days have had freezing mins this March). It was still breezy at times. Temperatures rebounded some after the sub-freezing 30° minima to reach the low-mid 40s by late afternoon. There was some rain (and even snow) reported by Marty in Eldersburg to my NE over Carroll County and points N and E. The Sunday maximum temperature from the VP2 (43.7°) was recorded at 1725 while the minimum temperature (28.4°) was recorded at 0748. Dew point temperatures were low in the early AM, but started to rise later in the day, ranging from a low of 16° at 0739 up to a high of 34° later at 1840. Relative humidity values rose some from yesterday (87% – 52%). Barometric values really started to rise later today, ranging from a low of 30.15″ at 0226 up to a high of 30.59″ much later at 2354.

Remember now you can get the VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444

I am posting daily to weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time. The web address for my data on weather underground is: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDrockv200#history/ I contribute daily to cocorahs as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 on https://www.cocorahs.org/ Please remember that Weather Underground does not report snow data, and reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge. I use the data I post to cocorahs as my “official” precipitation total each day.

Overnight Sunday into Monday skies had cleared off late with temps dropping off through the 30s. Sunny skies on Monday, with highs in the upper 40s and lows in the upper 20s. Tuesday should feature highs in the upper 40s under mostly cloudy skies and lows above freezing (around 40°). Wednesday should be cloudy but with a 40 POP for PM showers, highs in the mid 60s and lows in the lower 50s. On Thursday more showers are expected (70 POP) with clouds and slightly warmer temps, with highs around 70° and lows in the low 50s. Still more showers are possible (40 POP) on Friday, a bit cooler with highs in the low 60s, lows in the mid 40s under mostly cloudy skies.

On the Channel 4 weather website at 1228 radar is showing a clear 4 state Mid-Atlantic region. Closest precipitation are some showers offshore of the Georgia/Florida coast and showers and thunderstorms over parts of Iowa and Missouri at this time.
