MAY 1-10, 2020 – MILD START, COOL THEN COLD END WITH FREQUENT DAYS OF LIGHT RAIN UPDATE IN WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND
Our continued cool pattern continued through several of the first 10 days of May, highlighted by max temps remaining in the 40s on May 9, and near freezing mins around that time. We had a total of 1.35 inches total of rainfall during this period, with 15.89 inches for the year through May 10. Once again we had no days with minimum temperatures at or below the freezing mark (But coming close with the extreme low of 33.5 degrees on the 10th). During this latest 10 day period the highest temperature reached was 78.0 degrees on the 3rd. There were only 2 sunny days during the period.
Daily precip, max/min temperature values, general sky condition, and Peak Wind Gust (PWG) for each day of the period include:

There was precipitation on six of the days of this period, all relatively light amounts. Dew points were moderate to high during the first half of the period, dropping to lower levels well down into the 20s during the colder end. With the continued steady daily rainfall, fire danger remained low.
Despite the frequent daily rains, no severe weather was encountered in the period.
May weather has begun pretty cool, with steady, light rains continuing. Tree blossoms have mostly come out, with warmer temperatures towards the end of the coming week putting the finishing touches to the process.
The current temperature is 46 degrees at 2305 on May 11 with mostly cloudy skies. The temperature should remain cool overnight but warm to over 80° by the end of the week along with possible convective activity by the weekend.

Your weather sounds as bad as ours, but I’m seeing a big warmup coming next week. Finally!
