A sunny, warm, dry weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Tuesday September 26 2017
Tuesday was mostly sunny, warm and dry yet again but with some high clouds at times, perhaps upper level moisture from the weakening Hurricane/Tropical Storm Maria moving north off the North Carolina coast. Temperatures rose into the low 80s with lows in the upper 60s. Dew points rose up to the 70° mark. Now at 0345 we have fair skies with scattered high clouds and temperatures still around 70° and the dew points in the mid 60s. The Tuesday minimum temperature from the VP2 in the shelter on the ground below my balcony (68.0°) was recorded at 0636 while the maximum temperature (81.2°) was recorded at 1637. Dew point temps ranged from 64° up to 70°. Relative humidity values averaged out about the same as yesterday (87% – 65%). Barometric values were a bit lower than yesterday, ranging from 30.03″ at 0940 down to 29.93″ at 2325.
Remember now you can get the ground-based VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444 On Tuesday I progressed to another source for publishing my real-time data – weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data came online about noontime on Tuesday.
I was up by midday, trying to get my debit card account straightened out so I could submit a grocery order to Safeway successfully. I went through five iterations or cycles between Safeway and the Bank to no avail, and lost my online order. Later this evening I resubmitted the order, hoping that the fifth attempt with the bank will indeed be the lucky charm to get my order processed successfully. I also called Philips back to try and get my electric toothbrush working again, but again, to no avail. Still working on it, but if it doesn’t take a charge by Wednesday afternoon, they will ship me out a new unit. It won’t help me in time, as I have a dentist appointment (teeth cleaning) on Wednesday morning. At least I got my courtesy shuttle ride to and from nailed down. I caught some evening baseball action and also the regular SMACKDOWN wrestling show. I talked with Tracy on her way into work, and also Mike a few times. No word from Robin, she is moving tomorrow to a bigger place. I had a late brunch of a breakfast sandwich out of the microwave along with coffee, then a bit later I had a turkey pastrami and cheese toasted bagel sandwich that was yummy. Much later on I whipped up a batch of parmesan cheese risotto, with added mushrooms and sliced smoked turkey sausage mixed in. It wasn’t quite as good as I expected but as always still very edible.. I also had some delicious kimchee as an appetizer, and some triscuits later. I spoke with my friend Rick H on the phone in the evening, and caught up on some news with him, besides our usual weather talk. I also caught up some on my email and facebook messaging later during the evening, along with trying to get my email folders back to the way they were prior to recent problems. I had some prune juice and spicy low-sodium V8 juice right around dinner time. As always I had plenty of water and vitamins throughout the evening.
We now have fair skies with a few scattered high cirrus clouds with temperatures around 70° at 0345 Wednesday. One more sunny, very warm day on Wednesday, with high temps in the upper 80s and lows in the mid 60s. Thursday and Friday should turn cooler, with highs in the low-mid 70s and lows in the much more comfortable low 50s. Cooler air will continue to work its way into the weekend as we transition from September into October with highs in the upper 60s and lows in the upper 40s on Saturday. I had been hopeful for some rain early next week, but not so sure about that any more. We really need the rain, it has really gotten dry around here.
On Weatherbug at 0345 the radar is clear throughout the Eastern US at this time.
