WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – FRIDAY MAY 14, 2021

Sorry for the delay in getting this daily report out to you. I had a very busy, crazy day full of activity today (Saturday).

Friday was partly sunny with a bit warmer max temps (low 70s) than Thursday with lows a bit lower than Thursday (mid 40s), reached at customary times during the 24 hour day. The winds lightened up a bit and veered over to a milder westerly direction. Pressures were moderately high, similar to Thursday.

The weekend looks to be dry with partly sunny skies with highs reaching the low 70s and lows in the mid 50s. Next week looks partly to mostly sunny with temps in the 70s early in the week warming to the mid-upper 80s by week’s end, with lows mainly in the 50s to low 60s.

Currently at 2133 PM EDT Saturday partly cloudy skies with the temperature at 62.9, barometer 30.23″ and rising, relative humidity 48% , dew point 43 , winds S-SE at less than 5 MPH. No rain has fallen since midnight into the tipping bucket VP2 gauge at the USG site across the street from me.

Today’s feature image is one taken around sunset last Sunday evening looking west highlighting my “official cocorahs 4-inch rain gauge” through the generally cloudy, dry skies at the time showing a green groundcover. The “holly” adorning the custom rain gauge mount is, however, artificial. (See my comments on this mount in reply to Cathie’s question in yesterdays’ report.)
