Friday was cloudy and cool with lows in the mid 40s and highs in the low 60s, reached by early afternoon. Light showers fell occasionally during the day, particularly in the afternoon. 

For the weekend into the early part of next week, mostly cloudy, cool conditions should continue with occasional rounds of showers.  (mainly upper 50s to mid 60s for highs and mid 40s for lows).

Currently at 0926 AM EDT Saturday cloudy skies with the temperature at 46.3, barometer 29.95″ and rising, relative humidity 94% , dew point 45 , winds N-NW at 5-10 MPH.  0.05″ of rain has fallen since midnight into the tipping bucket VP2 gauge at the USG site across the street from me.

Today’s feature image is one taken mid-day Tuesday around 1300 EDT from the summit area of Spruce Knob, highest point in West Virginia at 4863 feet,  showing  yellow wildflowers in bloom. There was a bird that checked us out which I fed some cookie crumbs to in this immediate area.  Rain had not started to fall yet.  Temperature at the time was 63 F.
