8 of the 15 days in the period received measurable rain, mostly through numerous daily showers and/or thundershowers. The heat continued throughout the period except for a one day respite on the last day of the month. 10 days recorded max temps of 90 or more, with all days in the period having min temps in the muggy 70s. Soil moisture is no longer of concern locally in my immediate area.
The current temperature is 69.3 degrees at 0645 on August 4 with cloudy, damp, rainy skies as tropical storm Isaias heads our way. The temperature looks to moderate as we head further into August, with max temps generally in the 80s but mins remaining in the warm, muggy 70s during most overnight periods for the next several days .
