Mostly sunny, hot, more humid, still dry update for Sunday, September 22, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland

Mostly sunny, hot day with dew points rising some more but not terrible yet, as they stayed in the 60s.  High temps rose into the low 90s by mid afternoon, after early morning temps in the upper mid 60s. Dew point temperatures were at their lowest at the very beginning of the day (low 60s), then rose through to the  upper 60s by late morning and more or less held there the rest of the day.

The maximum temperature was 91.0 degrees at 1525.

The minimum temperature was 67.6 degrees at 0713.

The dew point temperatures ranged from a low of 62 degrees @ 0039 up to a high of 68 degrees @ 1055.

The relative humidity values ranged from a high of 85% @ 0713 down to a low of 43% @ 1516.

The barometric pressure ranged from a high of 30.20 inches @ 0000 down to a low of 30.01 inches @ 2347.

There was no precipitation on Sunday so the monthly total is still 0.42 inches. The year-to-date total is 38.08 inches. We are really getting quite dry around here with only small chances for a shower later today (Monday).

My current online data is showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called Gardens of Traville. Data is online, available in real-time as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200

Unfortunately a recent development was found that is a discrepancy between my wxlink data and my VP2 display data. I noted this yesterday when the low temperature came in as 50.2 degrees as I saw it in real time on my VP2 display, but on other sources tied in with wxlink I had a low of 52.8. Other variables
also were a bit different. I don’t understand this discrepancy which I just noticed the past few days. I need to study close by VP2 stations in wunderground to see if I may be getting signal interference from another station all of a sudden. In a possibly related development, I also noticed the re-appearance of wind data for my station in wxlink (and therefore also in my weather underground data) a few days ago and has continued.

I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 and can be found on the web at https://www.cocorahs.org

Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values on most days (when I have had rain that is) so should not be used except for general precipitation timing.

I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my official precipitation total each day. I haven’t been able to do this much most of this month unfortunately since no rain has fallen from the sky.

I crashed big time for most of Sunday and missed most of the NFL football action. I did have a sausage egg and cheese sandwich on a muffin once again before crashing. I made hoisin chicken for dinner along with some Schwan’s fire roasted vegetables (mostly potatoes) in the oven next to the chicken, with added mushrooms and carrots. I had another chocolate fudge frozen pop for dessert once again. I talked with Ray late and he gave me a recap of the games for the day. His Ravens lost to the KC Chiefs 33-28 in quite a battle, and my Giants beat Tampa Bay 32-31 when Tampa Bay missed a game winning field goal as time was expiring. The Giants started a rookie at QB (Dan Jones) replacing long-time veteran Eli Manning and did quite well. The Badgers moved up in the polls to a 9 rating nationally helped by their great 35-14 victory over Michigan on Saturday so that was good news.

Monday should be partly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower late, still hot with highs probably reaching the low 90s with lows in the upper mid 60s.

Tuesday and Wednesday should be mostly sunny with a return to more seasonable high temps around 80 and lows in the 55-60 range. Thursday through Saturday should be partly cloudy, slight chance of a shower on Thursday, with highs on Thursday and Saturday in the upper 80s and lows in the upper 50s to mid 60s, highs on Friday should be around 80 with lows in the low-mid 60s.

On Midnight Sunday the temperature was 75.8 degrees, relative humidity 72%, pressure falling at 30.01 inches with the dew point temperature at 66 degrees under clear skies.

Currently at 1145 Monday morning the temperature is 84.8 degrees under mostly sunny skies (scattered high clouds of cirrus and cirrostratus), relative humidity at 57%, barometric pressure falling at 29.94 inches, and the dew point temperature at 67 degrees.

Good late morning from the walrus on this sunny, warm Monday.
