Mostly sunny, much warmer, more humid but not too bad yet, still dry update for Saturday, September 21, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland
Mostly sunny, warmer day with dew points rising but still relatively comfortable and continued dry for Saturday. High temps rose into the upper mid 80s in the late afternoon, after early morning temps around 60. Dew point temperatures were at their lowest (low 50s) during the overnight, then rose gradually through the day to the mid 60s by late evening.
The maximum temperature was 87.8 degrees at 1626.
The minimum temperature was 59.5 degrees at 0529.
The dew point temperatures ranged from a low of 52 degrees @ 0629 up to a high of 65 degrees @ 2355.
The relative humidity values ranged from a high of 81% @ 0756 down to a low of 42% @ 1329.
The barometric pressure ranged from a high of 30.27 inches @ 0416 down to a low of 30.15 inches @ 1650.
There was no precipitation on Saturday so the monthly total is still 0.42 inches. The year-to-date total is 38.08 inches.
We are really getting quite dry around here with only small chances for a shower late on Monday.
My current online data is showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called Gardens of Traville. Data is online, available in real-time as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is:
https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200
Unfortunately a recent development was found that is a discrepancy between my wxlink data and my VP2 display data. I noted this yesterday when the low temperature came in as 50.2 degrees as I saw it in real time on my VP2 display, but on other sources tied in with wxlink I had a low of 52.8. Other variables also were a bit different. I don’t understand this discrepancy which I just noticed the past few days. Also the re-appearance of wind data for my station in wxlink
(and therefore also in my weather underground data) has continued.
I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 and can be found on the web at https://www.cocorahs.org
Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values on most days (when I have had rain that is) so should not be used except for general precipitation timing.
I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my official precipitation total each day. I haven’t been able to do this much most of this month unfortunately since no rain has fallen from the sky.
I crashed for a little while on Saturday in the early morning on my recliner but wanted to watch the pre-game hype for my Badgers big game against Big Ten power rival Michigan at noontime. I had some cereal, sliced banana, and milk, along with hot coffee before the game. The Badgers won the big game 35-14 that wasn’t really that close when it really mattered. Wisconsin will surely climb up into the top 10 rankings this coming week. I celebrated naturally, but more good games were on later, including a wild last minute victory by Pitt over UCF 35-34 and later a 23-17 victory by Georgia over Notre Dame in a marquee top ten matchup. I made baked haddock in the oven along with tater tots, and microwaved broccoli and cauliflower.
Sunday has started out quite mild with lows in the mid 60s under clear skies overnight. It should be sunny to partly cloudy this afternoon, when high temps may reach 90.
Monday should be partly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower late, highs around 90 with lows around 60.
Tuesday and Wednesday should be partly to mostly sunny with a return to more seasonable high temps in the upper 70s to low 80s and lows in the 55-60 range.
On Midnight Saturday the temperature was 74.2 degrees, relative humidity 70%, pressure rising at 30.20 inches with the dew point temperature at 65 degrees under clear skies.
Currently at 0732 Sunday morning the temperature is 65.0 degrees under sunny skies, relative humidity at 92%, barometric pressure steady at 30.17 inches, and the dew point temperature at 63 degrees.
Good morning from the walrus on this sunny, warm Sunday.
