Mostly sunny, cooler, very pleasant, still dry update for Wednesday, September 18, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland
Mostly sunny, cooler, very pleasant but still dry for mid-week Wednesday. High temps were in the mid 70s in the late afternoon, after early morning mins in the upper 50s. Dew point temperatures were at their
highest (60) in the mid morning, then fell gradually through the 50s to 50 by late afternoon.
The maximum temperature was 74.3 degrees at 1650.
The minimum temperature was 57.9 degrees at 0713.
The dew point temperatures ranged from a high of 60 degrees @ 1032 down to a low of 50 degrees @ 1706.
The relative humidity values ranged from a high of 83% @ 0703 down to a low of 43% @ 1706.
The barometric pressure ranged from a low of 30.13 inches @ 0002 up to a high of 30.28 inches @ 2317.
There was no precipitation on Wednesday so the monthly total is still 0.42 inches. The year-to-date total is 38.08 inches. We are starting to get quite dry around here with little prospects for rain for the next several days.
My current online data is showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called Gardens of Traville. Data is online, available in real-time as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is:
https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200
I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 and can be found on the web at https://www.cocorahs.org
Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values on most days (when I have had rain that is) so should not be used except for general precipitation timing.
I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my official precipitation total each day.
Wednesday was another sleep in day. I had a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit warmed up in the microwave for my breakfast before crashing for most of the afternoon into the early evening. I got several calls all day from Ray, who had a bad day with some phone accidents and such. We talked over the pro football games for the upcoming weekend, reviewing Pete Prisco’s picks and begging to disagree on them, particularly his pick of the Chiefs over the Ravens. I cooked up 2 burgers, trying out my new brand of hamburger buns which were very good, along with melted palmetto cheese. Accompanying the main course was some macaroni and potato salads, and my usual spicy low-sodium V8 to wash it all down. I later had a frozen chocolate fudge bar for dessert. I watched the Weather Channel and local weather shows to get a detailed report on the continued triple threat tropical activity. Tropical depression Imelda ashore on the east coast of Texas and west coast of Louisiana is dumping copious amounts of flooding rains in that area, hurricane Humberto in the Atlantic heading NE brushed by Bermuda to the north, but still had over 100 MPH winds recorded on that small island. Tropical storm Jerry, about 800 miles east of the eastern Caribbean Islands, is still heading WNW but is expected to pass north of Puerto Rico and the Bahamas and eventually curve out to sea. But that storm still bears watching..
Mostly sunny and pleasantly cool temps will continue on Thursday with highs in the mid 70s and lows down around the 50 mark.
Friday should start warming up to around 80 under sunny skies after one more pleasant night in the mid 50s.
Saturday and Sunday should warm up some more with continued sunny skies and pleasant overnight temps around 60. High temps will reach well into the 80s to near 90.
On Midnight Wednesday the temperature was 62.8 degrees, relative humidity 77%, pressure rising at 30.28 inches with the dew point temperature at 55 degrees under clear skies.
Currently at 0732 Thursday morning the temperature is 56.4 degrees under partly cloudy (cirrostratus) skies, relative humidity at 86%, barometric pressure rising at 30.34 inches, and the dew point temperature at 52 degrees.
Good morning from the walrus on this very pleasantly cool, partly cloudy Thursday.
