Partly cloudy (high clouds mostly) AM, becoming sunny warmer and less humid PM, dry once again update for Sunday, September 15, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland

High cloudiness gradually gave way during the AM hours to a sunny, clear sky in the PM, with dropping dew points as a weak cold front moved on south and east of my area. The high temperature (low 80s) for the day was reached in the mid-afternoon after early morning mins in the upper 60s. The low temperature for the day wasn’t reached till the very end, just two minutes before midnight Sunday night. Dew point temperatures were at their highest around 70 degrees in the very beginning of the day, then gradually dropped into the mid 50s by mid-afternoon and raised to around 60 by midnight. The trends of the extreme values were similar to Saturday’s and not Sunday’s. .

The maximum temperature was 82.4 degrees at 1621.

The minimum temperature was 66.3 degrees at 2358. (AM min was 67.8 degrees at 0755)

The dew point temperatures ranged from a high of 69 degrees @ 0000 down to a low of 54 degrees @ 1625.

The relative humidity values ranged from a high of 93% @ 0649 down to a low of 38% @ 1625.

The barometric pressure ranged from a high of 30.21 inches @ 1026 down to a low of 30.10 inches @ 2026.

There was no precipitation on Sunday so the monthly total is still 0.42 inches. The year-to-date total is 38.08 inches.

My current online data (except for rainfall/snowfall so please use the cocorahs link shown below) is showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called Gardens of Traville. Data is online, available in real-time as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is:                                              https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200

I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 and can be found on the web at https://www.cocorahs.org

Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values on most days (when I have had rain that is) so should not be used except for general precipitation timing.

I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my official precipitation total each day.

Sunday is NFL pro football day but I didn’t go to bed till almost kickoff time after a quick salami sandwich before retiring so I wound up sleeping through most of the action, only checking scores once in a while during brief wake times in bed on my phone. I did watch a bit of the exciting Falcons 24 Eagles 20 game on Sunday night football and then caught highlights on late night sports and news shows. I made a small sausage pizza for dinner, washed down by spicy V8 and ice water.  I worked a bit on further processing of my August data, but didn’t finish yet however I did post it to weathertogether.net and FACEBOOK before crashing. I chatted online with friends and family, including Gideon’s incidental call very late from bed while his Mom was asleep, so that call was quite short as Robin was out of it in dreamland. I had good, interesting dreams myself once again over Sunday afternoon while sleeping soundly. I worked on a grocery delivery order from Fresh Direct very late Sunday/early Monday and talked a bit with Marty while finishing up the order which will arrive on Tuesday evening.

Monday has been partly cloudy and relatively cool (low 60s) this morning but now is rising through the 60s and 70s on its way to well up in the 80s to near 90 for high temps later .

Tuesday should be partly cloudy with a slight chance of light showers accompanying a cold frontal system that will give us dry, cooler conditions the rest of the week. High temps on Tuesday should not top 80, and temps in the evening should drop well down into the 60s and perhaps mid-upper 50s by late evening if not the overnight. .

Mostly sunny and cooler temps the rest of the workweek with highs in the low-mid 70s and lows well down into the very pleasant 50s.  It looks like a dry week. Humberto has reached hurricane status now but is heading eastout into the North Atlantic, perhaps coming close to Bermuda by mid-week.

On Midnight Sunday the temperature was 66.3 degrees, relative humidity 81%, pressure steady at 30.11 inches with the dew point temperature at 60 degrees under partly cloudy skies.

Currently at 1125 Monday morning the temperature is 78.9 degrees under mostly sunny (some widely scattered cirrostratus covering a small portion of the sky) skies, relative humidity at 64%, barometric pressure falliing at 30.08 inches, and the dew point temperature at 66 degrees.

Good morning from the walrus on this mostly sunny and warming Monday.
