Partly to mostly cloudy, a tad warmer by day but a tad cooler overnight but still remaining humid but without rain update for Friday, August 16, 2019 at West Rockville Maryland

Friday was a partly to mostly cloudy, slightly warmer during the day, but slightly cooler overnight, still humid day without any rain. High temps reached the mid 80s after a slightly more pleasant overnight but still humid with lows around the 70 mark.  Temps fell only into the mid 70s by midnight observation time and still muggy. Dew points once again stayed pretty steady all day in the low to mid 70s, except for a brief early AM slight respite into the upper 60s.

The maximum temperature was 84.6 degrees at 1605.

The minimum temperature was 70.7 degrees at 0557.

The dew point temperatures ranged from a low of 69 degrees @ 0406 up to a high of 75 degrees @ 1418.

The relative humidity values ranged from a high of 95% @ 0532 down to a low of 69% @ 1538.

The barometric pressure ranged from a high of 30.03 inches @ 1048 down to a low of 29.94 inches @ 1937.

There was no precipitation on Friday so there still is a total of 3.99 inches of rain so far in August. The year-to-date total is 33.68 inches.

My current online data (except for rainfall/snowfall so please use the cocorahs link shown below) is showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called Gardens of Traville. Data is online, available in real-time as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200

I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 and can be found on the web at https://www.cocorahs.org

Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values every day of late so should not be used except for general precipitation timing. (for example, it recorded 2.15 inches of rain over a week ago (Sunday 8/4), with a 16.94 inch an hour rain rate at 0021 very early on that day that was way over what actually
occurred.)

I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my official precipitation total each day.

Friday was another busy day. I had to rise mid-day to get ready for my small Safeway delivery which came about 1330. I put the supplies to immediate use for a late breakfast of Cinnamon Life cereal, banana, milk and coffee. I worked on some personal computer based business during the afternoon, doing some scanning of important documents that I had to get out. I went to rummikub in the early evening, enjoying a few hours downstairs with 3 of my apartment friends despite the fact that I didn’t win any individual game. I made dinner when I got back to my apartment, having a Stouffer meat loaf and mashed potato frozen dinner along with some stovetop prepared spinach. I snacked on some crackers and cheese in the later evening, while watching the Yankees beat the Indians 3-2 and the NY Football Giants beating the Bears 32-13.

Over the weekend both Saturday and Sunday should be partly cloudy, hot and humid, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s and lows in the low 70s with slight chances for scattered showers and storms.

Monday will be sunny and hot, with high temps in the mid 90s, lows in the low 70s with no chance of rain.

Tuesday will be  mostly to partly sunny, continued hot and humid with highs in the mid 90s and lows in the low 70s.

Wednesday should be a bit cloudier and not quite as hot, with highs in the low 90s and lows in the low 70s.

Thursday rain chances increase somewhat, under partly cloudy skies and cooler temps in the mid 80s and lows in the low 60s.

Midnight Friday recorded a temperature of 75.7 degrees, relative humidity 89%, pressure steady at 29.99 inches and the dew point temperature at 72.2 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.

Currently at 0615 the temperature is 73.5 degrees under mostly cloudy skies, relative humidity at 94%, barometric pressure steady at 29.98 inches, and the dew point temperature at 72 degrees.

Good early morning from the walrus on this muggy start to the weekend.
