My current online data (except for rainfall/snowfall – use the cocorahs link shown below) is showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, available in real-time as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200
I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 and can be found on the web at https://www.cocorahs.org/
Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values every day of late so should not be used except for general precipitation timing.
I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my “official” precipitation total each day.
I used the Schwan’s food grocery supplies on Tuesday, making a delicious parmesan risotto and then later making a cheesy broccoli chicken rice medley, both on the stovetop. I placed a supplemental order with Shoppers through instacart for the many items that Schwan’s didn’t have that I need like milk, bananas, shredded wheat, mushrooms, radishes, etc. The Shoppers order should come in a few hours from now.
We have a succession of hot, humid days ahead through the weekend, with a temporary one day semi-break on Thursday from showers/storms from the remnants of Tropical Storm Barry. High temps should be around 90, with lows in the low-mid 70s.
High temperatures otherwise (today through Sunday except for Thursday) should be in the upper 90s to around 100 with heat indexes well above 100 on most days, with low temps in the muggy, uncomfortable mid-upper 70s. Scattered thunderstorms (50 POP) may occur in the late afternoon or evening on Wednesday or Thursday, but dry days should be expected through the weekend, save for possibly late on Sunday into Monday with a chance of showers and storms returning.
Midnight Tuesday recorded a temperature of a balmy 82.3°, relative humidity 78%, pressure rising at 30.03 inches and the dew point temperature at 74.7° under partly cloudy skies.
Currently at 1544 the temperature is 96.4° under partly sunny skies (mostly building fair-weather cumulus) , relative humidity at 54%, barometric pressure falling at 29.88 inches, and the dew point
temperature a sweltering 77°. Severe thunderstorm warnings are going off this afternoon on my NOAA Weather radio from severe storms occurring right now over in sections of northern Virginia, well to my west for now.
Good afternoon from the walrus on this partly sunny Wednesday. My picture upload function is working again thank goodness. Today’s featured image is showing the cumulus laden skies from earlier this afternoon, taken for the GLOBE cloud observer program. This view is the traditional NNE view I use the most.
