Mostly sunny, seasonably mild, dry, pleasant update for Friday, June 14, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland

Flag Day Friday was mostly sunny, dry, seasonably mild, and quite pleasant. Temperatures rose from the mid 50s in the early AM to the mid 70s in the mid-late afternoon hours, then fell back into the low 60s by midnight observation. Dew point temperatures started out in the upper 40s in the AM hours, rising a bit into the low-mid 50s by evening but remaining comfortable.

The maximum temperature was 75.5 degrees at 1720.

There was no precipitation on Friday. There has been 1.66 inches of rain recorded so far in June. The year-to-date total is 21.95 inches.

My current online data (except for rainfall/snowfall – use the cocorahs link shown below for that dataset) is showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time now as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is:
https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200

I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 on https://www.cocorahs.org/

Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values every day of late so should not be used except for general precipitation timing.

I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my “official” precipitation total each day.

Saturday should be partly cloudy and warmer, with highs in the mid 80s and lows in the mid 60s. I plan to be attending the 2019 DC-AMS Science Fair Student recognition ceremony at the Rockville Library on Saturday afternoon. Hopefully pictures will be forthcoming in Saturday’s post.

Father’s Day Sunday should be partly cloudy, warm and humid, with highs in the upper 80s and lows around 70°. There will be chances of showers and thundershowers returning in the afternoon and evening.

Monday through Thursday should be partly cloudy, very warm on Monday, with chances of showers and storms each day, highs around 90° on Monday and then a tad cooler (low-mid 80s) on Tuesday through Thursday with lows around 70° Monday and mid 60s on Tuesday through Thursday.

Midnight Friday recorded a temperature of 60.6°, relative humidity 75%, pressure steady at 30.15 inches and a dew point temperature of 53° under clear skies.

Currently at 0451 the temperature is 56.7° under clear skies, relative humidity at 85%, barometric pressure falling at 30.13 inches, and a still comfortable dew point of 52°.

Good morning from the walrus early on this Saturday. Today’s featured image shows some fair weather cumulus we have been experiencing in the nice, pleasant conditions this week. Enjoy!
