Cloudy, warm with early AM frontal showers, then clearing out, cooling off and drying out update for Monday April 15, 2019 in West Rockville Maryland
Monday featured early AM clouds, warm temps and frontal showers (0.12″ – from 0100 to 0245 approx). Temps in the low 70s in the first few hours gradually dropped off under increasing NW breezes (post-frontal) to the mid 40s by late evening. Clouds gradually gave way to sun at times, but blustery, unsettled skies kept quite a bit of clouds in during most of the daylight hours. Storms in the region kept up during the first few hours of the day in certain areas, but no apparent damage here in my immediate vicinity. No word from officials as to ground-truth tornado confirmation that I have heard. I will check NWS storm reports when I get the chance to get further updates on that if there are any.
The maximum temperature was 73.1° at 0038.
The minimum temperature was 45.7° at 2313.
The dew point temperatures ranged from a muggy high of 67° @ 0055 down to a low of 32° @ 2055.
The relative humidity values ranged from a high of 94% @ 0610 down to a low of 51% @ 1049.
The barometric pressure ranged from a low of 29.37″ @ 0201 up to a high of 30.04″ @ 2347.
Monday had 0.12″ of precipitation. April now has a total of 0.92″ of precipitation. The year-to-date total is 12.61″.
My current online data (except for rainfall/snowfall – use the cocorahs link shown below for that dataset) is showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time now as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200
I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 on https://www.cocorahs.org/
Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values at times so should not be used except for general precipitation timing.
I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my “official” precipitation total each day.
