Sunny, quite chilly AM, becoming cloudy by midday and continuing cloudy but dry update for Tuesday April 2, 2019 in West Rockville Maryland

Tuesday was sunny, quite chilly with light winds in the AM, then becoming cloudy mid-day and staying that way the rest of the day. Light rain showers were expected but no rain fell measurably at my station on Tuesday. Low temps in the low 30s in the early AM once again only rose up to the mid 40s by the early afternoon.

The maximum temperature was 47.5° at 1314.

The minimum temperature was 33.3° at 0657.

The dew point temperatures ranged from a low of 21° @ 0000 up to a high of 38° @ 2101.

The relative humidity values ranged from a low of 38% @ 1159 up to a high of 80% @ 2215.

The barometric pressure ranged from a high of 30.38″ @ 0001 down to a low of 30.11″ @ 2355.

Tuesday had no precipitation. My March monthly total finished at 4.67″ with my year-to-date total at 11.69″.

My current online data (except for rainfall/snowfall – use the cocorahs link shown below for that dataset) is showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time now as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200

I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 on https://www.cocorahs.org/

Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values at times so should not be used except for general precipitation timing.

I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my “official” precipitation total each day.

Good morning from the snowless walrus on this sunny, warming, dry Wednesday. A Red Flag warning has been posted for the area for dry tinder due to the temporary lack of rain and recent very desiccating winds to heighten the threat of brush and woodland fires.

With peak bloom of the famous downtown Washington DC Cherry Trees in the Tidal Basin occurring this week, trees and shrubs around here are looking more springlike also. Today’s attached image file is another picture posted on FACEBOOK by my photo-journalist weather enthusiast friend Jim Schuyler of the blooming joshino cherry trees in downtown DC at the Tidal Basin taken Monday afternoon. Thanks so much Jim!!!
