Mostly sunny, pleasant early fall day update for West Rockville, Maryland for Saturday, September 29, 2018

Well this last weekend of September is finishing out a very wet month with a tranquil, pleasant early fall two-day period. Saturday’s max temperature was 74.2° at 1459

You can get the VP2 data on Weatherlink. I have migrated over to Weatherlink 2.0 so I have a new link for my data. You can now access the data through:

I am posting daily to weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time. The web address for my data on weather underground is: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard ID=KMDrockv200#history/

I contribute daily to cocorahs as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 on https://www.cocorahs.org/

Please remember that Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge. I actually use the data I post to cocorahs from my 4″ cocorahs gauge I read manually as my “official” precipitation total each day.

September monthly precipitation is 10.36″ with my year-to-date precipitation at 48.44″.  September 2018 is now my rainiest month here at my current station since I started here in January 2017.  My previous rainiest month was 8.65″ back in July 2017.

Overnight Friday into Saturday was mostly clear and cooler.  Saturday was a mostly sunny and pleasant day, with highs in the mid 70s and lows in the mid-upper 50s, Dew points held in the mid 50s to low 60s all day. We should wrap up what has been a very wet month of September on Sunday with another mostly sunny and pleasant day, with high temps in the mid 70s, lows around 60°.   Early next week (Mon-Wed) October will start out warm and dry with highs around 80°, lows in the low-mid 60s with partly cloudy skies. The 60 POP for PM thunderstorms on Tuesday has literally “dried up” to just a 20 POP. Thursday looks mostly sunny and warmer, with highs up in the mid 80s and lows in the mid 60s.

Currently at 0510 the temperature is 56.6°, dew point temperature 55°, relative humidity 93%, barometric pressure at 30.32″ and steady.

Currently I have clear skies and pleasant overnight temperatures in the mid 50s.

Good morning from the Walrus on this comfortable early Sunday.

Kevin
