I am posting daily to weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time. I contribute daily to cocorahs as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 on https://www.cocorahs.org/
Please remember that Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge. I actually use the data I post to cocorahs from my 4″ cocorahs gauge I read manually as my “official” precipitation total each day.
September monthly precipitation has risen to 10.36″ with my year-to-date precipitation now at 48.44″. September 2018 is now my rainiest month here at my current station since I started here in January 2017. My previous rainiest month was 8.65″ back in July 2017.
Overnight Thursday into Friday the rain continued to about 0430, heaviest betweeen 0145-0200, then slowly cleared out with sun by mid-late afternoon, and temperatures rebounding from mid 50s lows in the early AM to about 70° by late in the afternoon. Saturday and Sunday should be sunny and pleasant, with highs in the low-mid 70s and lows in the mid-upper 50s, wrapping up a very wet month of September on a dry, pleasant note. Early next week (Monday-Wednesday) October will start out warm with highs around 80°, lows in the low-mid 60s with partly cloudy skies and a 60 POP for PM thunderstorms on Tuesday.
Currently at 1428 the temperature is 73.6°, dew point temperature 58°,
relative humidity 58%, barometric pressure at 30.24″ and falling.
Currently I have partly cloudy skies with fair-weather cumulus dotting the sky, pleasant temperatures rising into the 70s early this afternoon.
Good afternoon from the Walrus on this pleasant Saturday.
