Remember now you can get the VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444 I am posting daily to weather underground.
My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally
just about in real-time. The web address for my data on weather underground is: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard ID=KMDrockv200#history/
I contribute daily to cocorahs as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 on https://www.cocorahs.org/
Please remember that Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded
automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge. I actually use the data I post to
cocorahs from my 4″ cocorahs gauge I read manually as my “official” precipitation total each day.
September monthly precipitation has risen to 9.79″ with my year-to-date precipitation now at 47.87″ through 9/27. With the 0.57″ of rain I got earlier this Friday morning, I know I will be over the “magic” 10 inch mark for the month of September and my rainiest month here at my current station since I started here in January 2017.
Overnight Thursday into Friday the rain continued early this morning, but has moved off to the NE towards New England, and has started to dry off here in my apartment environment and will be a comfortable, partly sunny afternoon with highs in the low-mid 70s. Other areas locally such as farm fields and stream beds have flooded (again) with the nearby Whites Ferry not operating due to high water. Saturday and Sunday should be mostly sunny and pleasant, with highs in the low-mid 70s and lows in the mid-upper 50s. Sunday should wrap up the month of September on a dry, pleasant note with partly sunny skies, high temps in the mid 70s and lows in the mid-upper 50s. Early next week looks like a bit more clouds, a bit warmer with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the low-mid 60s but still looking dry for the moment.
Currently at 1241 the temperature is 66.1°, dew point temperature 60°,
relative humidity 81%, barometric pressure at 30.13″ and rising.
Currently I have partly to mostly cloudy skies, pleasant temperatures rising through the 60s now at mid-day. Earlier (about 1000 EDT) I took today’s featured image looking ENE from my cocorahs gauge which is shown below…
Good afternoon from the Walrus on this improving Friday.
