A sunny , colder update for West Rockville Maryland on Thursday, January 25 2018
Thursday featured still colder temperatures with sunny skies as high temperatures only reached the upper-mid 30s and lows down in the 20s for the first time since 1/20. The Thursday maximum temperature from the VP2 (37.8°) was recorded at 1557 while the minimum temperature (26.2°) was recorded at 2354. My dew point temperatures lowered some more today, ranging from a high of 24° early at 0000 down to 17° at 1135. Relative humidity values started out lower in the AM, then rose late in the day somewhat (77% – 46%). Barometric values rose significantly all day today from a low (early) of 30.24″ at 0000 way up to a high of 30.63″ at 2357.
Remember now you can get the VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444.
I am posting daily to weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time. I contribute daily to cocorahs as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115. Please remember that Weather Underground does not report snow data, and reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge.
I talked with Ray in the evening for a while, and we got into the national Climate data base records to help with a request for Andrews AFB daily data, which is not found in our normal sources. I found it finally, but it is complexly displayed/encoded in a very hard to read format. I need to work on these files some more to get them in a more readable format. I did have my usual vitamins, supplements and water later in the evening.
We are warming up after a cold early AM (low of 24° at 0525) into the upper 30s now under clear, sunny skies. Friday looks to warm up a bit, with highs near 50° and lows in the mid 30s under sunny skies. Mostly sunny and milder on Saturday with highs in the upper 50s and lows in the mid 40s. Cloudy with AM light rain (60 POP) on Sunday, with highs in the low 50s and lows in the low-mid 30s. Monday should be partly cloudy and cooler, with highs in the upper 40s and lows in the mid 20s. Colder on Tuesday under AM clouds/PM sun with highs only up to freezing and lows in the mid-upper teens.
On the Channel 4 weather website at 1046 radar is showing a clear screen throughout the Eastern U.S at this time.
