A mostly sunny, dry, milder update for West Rockville Maryland for Black Friday November 24 2017
Black Friday was mostly sunny, dry, and milder in the PM after another frosty early AM. Temperatures started out seasonably cold in the upper 20s then rose into the low 50s by mid-afternoon. Dew points stayed in the 20s and low 30s all day. At 0754 we have clear skies with temperatures in the mid 30s. The Friday minimum temperature from the VP2 (28.5°) was recorded at 0645 while the maximum temperature (51.0°) was recorded at 1511. Dew point temps ranged only a little more, from 25° up to 33°. Relative humidity values lowered a bit from yesterday (87% – 44%). Barometric values lowered a bit, ranging from a high of 30.12″ at 0755 down to 29.95″ at 2359.
Remember now you can get the VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444.
I am also now on weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time.
I woke up in the mid afternoon for the weekly 1500 rummikub game. I managed to eat a late breakfast of cereal (I had run out of bananas and coffee) while talking briefly with my sister out in Michigan. I went on time to our usual game meeting place downstairs and no one was there. I waited for 30 minutes to no avail, accessing items on my phone while waiting. I picked up my mail at 1530 and returned to my apartment. I straightened out the kitchen, particularly the countertops, the refrigerator and freezer for the small 1800 grocery delivery from Instacart/Shoppers. I even had a late lunch of leftover bratwurst on a toasted bagel while talking with Tracy who was traveling in between restaurants on her “split shift” busy, long day. The delivery came a bit early actually, but I was ready. It was all put away by 1815. Mike came by a bit later with a coffee delivery from Tracy with him, watching parts of an exciting college football game, won by UCF 49-42 over USF (two Florida schools). I really didn’t eat any more all day, save for a few cashews later on. I talked on the phone with Robin later, at home with Gideon on face-time. A later call from the bathtub was promised, but some reason never came Friday evening. I communicated with several on FACEBOOK and email, exchanging late holiday greetings and updates with a few. I had my usual vitamins, supplements and ice water throughout the evening after some late lunchtime prune juice.
We are partly sunny (broken altocumulus mostly) and dry early this morning with temps in the mid 30s. Saturday should be partly cloudy and milder, with highs around 60° and a 20 POP for an isolated light rain shower with lows in the mid 30s. Sunny and cooler on Sunday, with highs in the upper 40s and lows in the low 30s. Monday should be mostly sunny with scattered clouds at times and a bit milder, with highs in the mid 50s and lows in the mid 30s. Tuesday should be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 50s and lows in the upper 30s. No real organized areas of precipitation as we finish out the month of November dry, and start the new month of December likewise.
On the Channel 4 weather website at 0754 their radar is clear in our local 4 state region. The closest action is in parts of western NY and PA with lines of light showers marking the next cold front which we should experience here sometime on Sunday. An isolated shower is possible later today, but only a 20 POP for that.
