A sunny, dry, colder update for West Rockville Maryland for Thanksgiving Day Thursday November 23 2017

Thanksgiving Thursday was sunny, dry, and colder. Temperatures started out seasonably cold in the upper 20s then rose into the low 40s by mid-afternoon, then slid back down the rest of the day to go below freezing just before midnight. Dew points stayed in the 20s all day. At 0800 we have sunny/clear skies with temperatures in the lower 30s. The Thursday minimum temperature from the VP2 (28.5°) was recorded at 0552 while the maximum temperature (41.7°) was recorded at 1458. Dew point temps ranged little, only from 26° down to 23°. Relative humidity values lowered a bit from yesterday (80% – 49%). Barometric values rose a bit, ranging from a low of 30.07″ at 1938 up to 30.23″ at 0820.

Remember now you can get the VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444.

I am also now on weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time.

My elder daughter Tracy brought over a delicious smoked turkey dinner with all the fixins’ I love. I even have enough for another dinner on another day. Had a beer and later on had a nice piece of home-baked pumpkin pie.  She visited a while, then I was by myself the rest of the day. I talked on the phone with my younger daughter Robin later, on her way home from work. I watched plenty of football. After wrestling with some computer/browser issues that were only solved with a cold boot of my system, I communicated with several on FACEBOOK and email, exchanging holiday greetings and updates with many and ordered some Christmas cards and Christmas stamps from the USPS online.

We are sunny and dry early this morning with temps in the lower 30s after earlier recorded mins in the upper 20s. Black Friday should be sunny with scattered clouds and highs in the lower 50s and lows in the mid 30s. Saturday should be partly cloudy and a bit milder, with highs in the mid-upper 50s and a 20 POP for an evening rain shower with lows in the mid 30s. Partly cloudy and cooler on Sunday, with highs in the mid-upper 40s and lows in the low 30s. Monday should be sunny and a bit milder, with highs in the lower 50s and lows around freezing.

On the Channel 4 weather website at 0800 their radar is clear in our local 4 state region. The closest action is in parts of northern MI and also offshore of the SE Atlantic Coast and parts of northern Florida at this time.

As of 0800, the data from the VP2 (coming from the ground radiation shield about 4 feet off the ground just under and out from the balcony) and the Lakewood WXBug station are as follows :

Good morning from the sunny, dry Walrus early on this Black Friday. Hope you all had a Happy Turkey Day!

Today’s featured image continues in a snowy mode, with a train cutting through the forested beautifully snowy landscape. This is not a current picture, and was not close to my current residence. But allow me to dream of such great photographic masterpieces of snowy forests.
