A partly cloudy, cooler, dry, breezy update for West Rockville Maryland for Friday November 17 2017
Friday was a cooler, partly cloudy, breezy at times day to finish up the workweek. I checked data reported yesterday and all checked out correctly except for minor timing differences not worth reporting further on. Temperatures started in the mid 30s. Dew points were lower than yesterday, staying no higher than the low 30s and dropping down into the upper 20s. At 0743 we have a partial high cloud overcast of mostly broken altocumulus. Temperatures are in the upper-mid 30s. The Friday minimum temperature from the VP2 (36.3°) was recorded at 2306 while the maximum temperature (49.6°) was recorded at 1435. Dew point temps ranged from 32° down to 29°. Relative humidity values lowered a bit today (80% – 46%). Barometric values rose upwards from yesterday but dropping late, ranging from a low of 30.10″ at 2359 up to a high of 30.25″ at 1025.
Remember now you can get the VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444. I am also now on weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time.
We are partly sunny with a broken altocumulus partial overcast this morning with temps in the upper-mid 30s and a bit of a breeze at times. Crows have been particularly active the past few minutes, some landing on my balcony briefly. Saturday will be variably cloudy with highs in the mid 50s and a 30 POP for rain showers in the later afternoon with lows in the mid 40s and a 90 POP for rain overnight. Partly cloudy and a bit cooler on Sunday, with highs around 50° and lows around 30°. Sunny on Monday with highs in the upper 40s and lows in the lower-mid 30s. Tuesday should have partly cloudy skies with temps warming up again into the mid 50s, lows around 40°. Wednesday should be cooler under partly cloudy skies, with highs in the upper 40s and lows in the mid-upper 20s.
On the Channel 4 weather website at 0743 radar is showing some pretty heavy showers out to our west in much of western PA, overlapping into parts of northern WV, western NY state, and OH at this time. They are associated with a front trying to push east, but with a more ENE twist that will delay the rain into our area till later this afternoon or evening.
As of 0743, the data from the VP2 (coming from the ground radiation shield about 4 feet off the ground just under and out from the balcony) and the Lakewood WXBug station are as follows :
