Friday warmed up a bit overnight but didn’t get as warm during the day with weak SW winds predominating under mostly sunny skies. Temperatures were in the low 50s in the early AM, rising to the lower 70s in the mid afternoon. Dew points lowered today, ranging from the mid 50s down to the mid 40s. Now at 0608 we have clear skies with cooler temps compared with yesterday. Temperatures are in the upper 40s with dew points in the mid 40s. The Friday minimum temperature from the VP2 (52.1°) was recorded at 0323 while the maximum temperature (71.1°) was recorded at 1632. Dew point temps ranged from 55° down to 46°. Relative humidity values lowered some today (89% – 44%). Barometric values were about the same as yesterday, ranging from 30.28″ at 1038 down to 30.18″ at 0208.

I was up in the early afternoon to go to the weekly 1500 rummikub game. I had a bowl of cereal and sliced bananas before leaving. We finished early (around 1630) and I visited a bit and picked up my mail on the way back up to my apartment. I watched the unfortunate 6th game of the playoffs between Houston and New York, won by the Astros 7-1 to even the series at 3 games a piece. Deciding 7th game will be on Saturday night. Winner of that game moves on to the World Series which starts on Tuesday night at the home of the Los Angeles Dodgers. I talked with Tracy after rummikub in the late afternoon and Ray a few times working on some “water-year” data in the cocorahs data base. I also spoke with Marty in the evening to resolve a few issues and items from yesterday’s visit. I face timed with Robin and Gideon during his dinner and then his subsequent bath to clean him up from the ice cream he had at the end of dinner. I ate some kimchee and tuna salad for appetizers, then I grilled 2 pork/bacon cheeseburgers (from Omaha Steaks through Tracy) on the Foreman embellished with a bit of mayo and huy fong sriracha sauce and a bit more kimchee. I later had a klondike bar for dessert. I did a bit of work on my September climate data spreadsheet that is almost done. I also tried to catch up on my email and facebook communications at times throughout the evening. I had prune juice and some spicy V8 around dinner time along with my vitamins, colace and ice water.

We now have a clear sky at 0608 Saturday with temps in the mid-upper 40s. It should be a dry weekend with stable temperatures. Saturday and Sunday should be mostly sunny with perhaps a few scattered clouds, highs in the mid 70s and lows in the low 50s Saturday and mid 50s on Sunday. Outlook for early in the week is for increasing clouds and still mild on Monday with highs in the mid 70s and lows in the low 60s, then a 100 POP for rain on Tuesday with highs in the upper 60s and lows in the upper 40s as a strong cold front moves through the area late in the day. Partly sunny and cool on Wednesday with highs in the low 60s and lows in the low 40s.

On Weatherbug at 0608 the radar is clear throughout the Eastern U.S. including Florida at this time. The nearest rain I see is in scattered light showers in parts of the Midwest, over sections of Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois and Missouri at this time.
