A beautiful warmer fall day update for West Rockville Maryland for Thursday October 19 2017
Thursday warmed up a bit under sunny skies and SW breezes. Temperatures were in the low 40s in the early AM, rising to the upper 70s in the mid afternoon. Dew points ranged from 60 down to the lower 40s. Now at 0558 we have clear skies with milder temps compared with yesterday. Temperatures are in the low to mid 50s with dew points in the upper 40s. The Thursday minimum temperature from the VP2 (43.3°) was recorded at 0710 while the maximum temperature (78.0°) was recorded at 1432. Dew point temps ranged from 60° down to 42°. Relative humidity values lowered some today (96% – 40%). Barometric values started to lower today, ranging from 30.31″ at 0000 down to 30.15″ at 1840.
Remember now you can get the VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444. I am also now on weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time.
I was up in the early afternoon to go meet up with Marty, over for a visit. He brought me a new 2 drawer file cabinet to replace my old broken one. He performed
some maintenance on my weather equipment, including switching out my VP2 display to show my VP2 data below my balcony and disconnect from the USG VP2 since it only is reporting barometric pressure readings right now. Sure is nice to see my display showing my own data directly. I showed him a few app functions on my computer, so he can show another of our friends one particular printing/PDF creating function. Marty brought over a few Oktoberfest beers, very enjoyable and
relaxed me by the time he left, which was just before my weekly trivia game at 1830. I watched the exciting Oakland 31 Kansas City 30 football game from California, along with a little bit of the completion of the 4-1 (in games) rout of the Dodgers over the Cubs. The game itself wasn’t close, won by LA 11-1. I talked with Ray in the mid afternoon briefly while Marty was here, and then later in the evening after trivia was over during the football game. I missed talking with Tracy on her way into work in the late afternoon as my phone was tied up with what I was doing with Marty. I ate a variety of leftovers, including a tasty turkey pastrami sandwich with hot pepper cheese, pickles, mustard and a bit of chipotle mayo on grilled rye. I also read my email and facebook communications at times throughout the evening. I had prune juice and some spicy V8 around dinner time along with my vitamins, colace and ice water.
We now have a clear sky at 0558 Friday. Highs in the mid 70s and lows in the upper 40s Friday with sunny skies. A dry weekend with stable temperatures. Saturday and Sunday should be mostly sunny with perhaps a few scattered clouds, with highs in the mid 70s and lows in the low 50s Saturday and mid 50s on Sunday. Outlook for early in the week is for increasing clouds and still mild on Monday with highs in the mid 70s and lows around 60°, then rain on Tuesday with highs in the low 70s and lows in the 40s as cooler air works in late in the day.
On Weatherbug at 0558 the radar is clear throughout the Eastern U.S. including most of Florida at this time. The nearest rain I see is over parts of TX, some about
to move east into LA. Still quite far away from here.
As of 0558 EDT, the data from the VP2 (coming from the ground radiation shield about 4 feet off the ground just under and out from the balcony) and the Lakewood
