A cloudy, cool, damp weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Thursday October 12 2017
Thursday was a cloudy, cooler, damp day with mostly AM rainfall (0.17″) peaking at a rain rate of 2.16″/hour at 0014 EDT. Temperatures did not vary much all day, slowly dropping from the mid 60s early in the AM to the upper 50s by late PM. Dew points ranged from the mid 60s (early) down to the mid 50s (late). Now at 0926 we have cloudy skies with temperatures in the upper 50s with dew points in the mid 50s. The Thursday minimum temperature from the VP2 (58.7°) was recorded at 2351 while the maximum temperature (64.8°) was recorded at 0000 in another topsy-turvy kind of day. Dew point temps ranged from 64° (early) down to 54° (late). Relative humidity values were about the same as yesterday (98% – 85%). Barometric values were on the rise today, ranging from 30.03″ at 0045 up to 30.33″ at 2301.
Remember now you can get the VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444. I am also now on weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time.
I was up in the mid afternoon after talking with Tracy on her way to work and took a shower. I had a banana and cereal for a late breakfast along with coffee. I spoke quite a bit with Marty in the evening as he returned back to Maryland from a brief trip up to western Massachusetts to make a site study for a possible new weather station at the top of Mt Greylock (3491′), highest point in the state. I went to the early evening trivia game in the next building over. I prepared a dinner of 2 pretty good grilled turkey cheeseburgers on the foreman grill, along with a variety of salads. I watched most of the the Nats final playoff game with Chicago in cloudy, cool conditions, won by the Cubs in a wild 9-8 game. Now the Cubs must start the next series for the NL flag against the LA Dodgers starting on Saturday. The Yankees open up their series for the AL flag against the Houston Astros on Friday evening. I also read my email and facebook communications at times throughout the evening. I had some spicy V8 around dinner time along with my vitamins and ice water.
We now have a cloudy sky at 0926 Friday. Cloudy and cool weather on Friday with high temps in the mid 60s and lows around 60°. There will only be a 20 POP for rain or drizzle on Friday. On Saturday warmer temps into the upper mid 70s and lows in the mid 60s with partly cloudy skies no real chances for rain. Sunday should warm into the low 80s under partly cloudy skies with lows in the low 50s. Monday should cool down under partly cloudy skies with highs in the low 60s and lows around 40°.
On Weatherbug at 0926 the radar is only showing scattered rain showers well offshore in the SE and mid-Atlantic ocean zones.
