Sunday was mostly cloudy, still warm, humid, with finally some rain (0.13″ through midnight) with dew point temperatures staying over the 70° mark all day. Temperatures stayed in the 70s all day. Dew points did not vary much all day, ranging from the low 70s to the mid 70s. Now at 0812 we have a cloudy, rainy sky with temperatures in the low 70s with dew points also in the low 70s. The Sunday minimum temperature from the VP2 (73.0°) was recorded at 0901 while the maximum
temperature (79.4°) was recorded at 1611. Dew point temps ranged from 71° up to 75°. Relative humidity values were higher than yesterday (97% – 83%). Barometric values fell off a bit more today, ranging from 29.98″ at 1120 down to 29.92″ at 0529.

I was up in the early afternoon to catch up with NFL football, watching the Eagles thump the Cardinals 34-7 and then the watching the Ravens beat the Raiders and the Packers beating the Cowboys 35-31. I had a bowl of cereal with a banana cut up in it, along with coffee and a microwaved egg, sausage and cheese biscuit to go along with the rest of the coffee. I talked with Ray quite a bit about football and also our rain potential which at that time was minimal (only 0.03″ fell in my VP2 gauge in the early morning). I spoke with Robin and saw a video of Gideon playing with his new play area and 100 plastic balls that he literally was having a “ball” with that I sent him for his 1st birthday, which is actually all day today (Monday October 9) as he celebrates it on the same day as my good friend Jeff T out in Oregon. Happy Birthday Jeff! I nibbled at some pimento cheese and guacamole on scoop chips for an appetizer, then had a grilled pastrami, cheese, pickles and mustard sandwich later, along with some macaroni salad. I also caught up some on my email and facebook messaging later on in the evening along with the exciting 1-0 victory by my Yankees over the Cleveland Indians. I had some prune juice and spicy V8 around dinner time. I had my vitamins and ice water throughout the evening.

We now have a full overcast with rain and temperatures in the low 70s at 0812 Monday. Rains will fall from the dying tropical depression Nate, moderate to heavy at times, on Monday (100 POP – morning mostly), with highs in the low 80s and lows in the mid 60s. Partly sunny on Tuesday, highs in the low 80s and lows in the low 60s. Generally cloudy/showery and cooler weather should follow the rest of the workweek from Wednesday through Friday with temps in the upper 60s-lower 70s. Right now a 40 POP for rain on Wednesday and a 60 POP on Thursday. We still need all the rain we can get

On Weatherbug at 0812 the radar is showing rain falling over most of the immediate area and the Mid-Atlantic region, moving towards the north and east and should clear our area by mid-day to early afternoon.
