Tuesday was yet another beautiful early fall day as we proceed further into the month of October. It was mostly sunny with a bit warmer afternoon air and rising dew point temperatures after another pleasantly cool early AM. Temperatures rose from the early AM low 50s to around 70° in the mid-afternoon. Dew points remained relatively low all day but about 5° higher than yesterday, ranging from the upper 40s up to around 60°. Now at 0747 we have clear skies and temperatures around 50° with dew points in the upper 40s. The Tuesday minimum temperature from the VP2 in the shelter on the ground below my balcony (51.5°) was recorded at 0425 while the maximum temperature (69.6°) was recorded at 1500. Dew point temps ranged from 49° up to 60°. Relative humidity values were about the same as yesterday (96% – 53%). Barometric values rose even more today, ranging from 30.47″ at 0019 up to 30.61″ at 1108. Pressure readings have been falling off since the late morning, but that 30.61″ reading was my highest pressure reading since a reading of 30.67″ was recorded back on March 23, 2017.

I was up in the mid afternoon to talk with Ray and Tracy briefly on her way to work before getting out of bed. I had a late breakfast of cereal, banana and coffee. I watched the American League Wild Card one game playoff between my favorite team, the Yankees, and the Twins. New York won the game 8-4 and now will play in the next round, a best of 5 games, with the Cleveland Indians starting on Thursday evening from Ohio. I also caught a little bit of SMACKDOWN wrestling action on USA network. Dinner was heated up leftover yellow rice and chicken from earlier in the week, along with some orzo and seafood salads as an appetizer. All was really yummy! I also caught up some on my email and facebook messaging later during the evening and finally exchanged some messages with Robin out in Las Vegas. She is in a new place, and her cell phone signal is weak there, so our face-time and phone conversations from her new spot will be limited till she gets her wi-fi hooked up sometime soon. I ordered a neat birthday present for my grandson from Amazon during the evening, and Amazon says it will arrive there sometime on Thursday before 8 PM. I also put in a grocery order for a Friday evening delivery from Giant-Peapod, which I had not used since January. I am running low or out of a few key items like milk and bananas for my breakfast, and dinner items like meat and fish, among other items. I had some prune juice and spicy low-sodium V8 juice right around dinner time and plenty of water and vitamins throughout the evening.

We now have clear skies right after sunrise with temperatures around 50° at 0747 Wednesday. The rest of the workday week looks to be a sunny, dry one with warming temps as we progress through our first week of October. Dry and warmer on Wednesday with highs around 80° and lows in the mid 50s. Thursday and Friday may find a few clouds around with highs in the low 80s, lows around 60°. Saturday will be warm and dry, highs in the low 80s and lows in the mid 60s. A new development for Sunday- RAIN!!! with highs in the low 80s and lows in the mid 60s. Rain also looks to continue into the early part of next week. We have not had any measurable rain here since September 14!

On Weatherbug at 0747 the radar is showing showers out in parts of the Midwest in sections of IN and MI and states to the west and southern Canada, but this big ridge we are under is diverting all midwestern shower activity north over the “top” of this ridge and missing our area by several hundred miles to the north. There are numerous tropical showers going on over much of Florida right now, and I believe that area will get organized and move north to give us that rain on Sunday through Tuesday.
