Saturday was one of the best days of the summer, pleasant temps, lower dew points, crystal blue skies with very little clouds and a fresh breeze during most of the daylight hours. No rain today. Now at 0218 we have clear skies and cooler temperatures than last night around this time, in the mid 60s, with dew points in the upper 50s. The Saturday minimum temperature from the VP2 in the shelter on the ground nearby (66.1°) was recorded at 2350 while the maximum temperature (78.0°) was recorded at 1631. Dew point temps were lower than yesterday, ranging from 72° down to 55°. Relative humidity values lowered from yesterday (90% – 48%). Barometric values rose a bit today, ranging from 29.83″ at 0219 to 30.07″ at 2352.
Remember now you can get the new ground-based VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444 I got up and going by late morning, as my special house guests greeted me in bed with plenty of giggles and babytalk, especially from Gideon, my grandson. I took a shower, Robin ran a few short bank errands, and then we went to the Hibachi Supreme Sushi Buffet in Gaithersburg to enjoy that specialty food with our friends. Gideon had quite a sampling of culinary delights, like shrimp, chicken and crab, and plenty of veges and fruits. I had a really wide range of what they had on the buffet, including pork dumplings, kimchee, crab stuffed oysters, several varieties of seafood and vegetable sushi, ribs, chicken skewers, etc plus a variety of desserts. Gideon flirted with many of the servers, a pretty little girl at a neighboring table brought over by one of the servers from our table, Robin’s friends who came, Mike, and so on. He had a blast! We got there around 1:15 and left around 4. We then went to Kaiser to get my INR checked (finally – it came in fine at 2.8), then went over to La Mex to see Tracy and more of her friends for a bit. We came back to my apartment to rest and recover for a few hours then went out again for a bit of chili and fixins at Hard Times Cafe, just a few miles SE on route 28 from my apartment towards downtown Rockville. I really wasn’t hungry but Robin so loved this place but cannot go any more since Nevada doesn’t have any of these establishments within its borders. We came back and slowly wound down with some SNL and a bath for Gideon. Many more pictures and videos taken during our journeys most of the day on Saturday. With Robin and Gideon not going back on a return flight to Las Vegas till Monday evening, I have another full day on Sunday to have more fun with Robin and Gideon.
We now have clear, dry skies and cooler temperatures in the mid 60s around 0218. Mostly to partly sunny conditions and comfortable below normal temps mostly in the 70s for highs and 60° to 65° for lows should dominate Sunday and into all of the work week, save for mostly cloudy skies and a 90 POP for showers/storms on Monday and a 30-50 POP for scattered showers/storms Wednesday through Friday. .
On Channel 4 radar at 0221 most of the eastern US is dry, save for far eastern Maine into the Maritime provinces of Canada, and also out in the Midwest, starting with SW IL, and parts of central MO and SE KS and pts SW of there right now.
