January 2021 was milder and drier than normal. My maximum temperature average (41.3°) was 0.5° above normal but my minimum temperature average (30.1°) was much more significantly above normal (+ 5.6°), resulting in the mean temperature average of 35.9° to be 2.9° above normal. December 2020 was warmer and wetter than normal. My maximum temperature average (45.7°) was 0.5° above normal but my minimum temperature average (32.7°) was much more significantly above normal (+ 4.5°), resulting in the mean temperature average of 39.2° to be 2.5° above normal. NOVEMBER 2020 MONTHLY SUMMARY ROCKVILLE 2.8 WNW MARYLAND November 2020 temperatures were, as usual, above normal, still due to the more frequent trend of recent years of above normal average minimum temperatures (43.0° or 6.2° above normal) but not as much different as usual than the mean or max temperature differences. October 2020 temperatures were above normal, mostly due to the increasingly more frequent trend of recent years of well above normal average minimum temperatures (51.4° or 5.9° above normal). Essentially the average maximum temperature was normal (66.5° or 0.2° above normal). The resulting mean average temperature of 58.9° was 3.0° above normal. Several mild days into the low-mid 70s with dense early morning fog started the period with a big rainstorm from the remains of Tropical System Zeta (1.86” – our third wettest day of the year) near the end of the month highlighted this second half of October.  Monthly rainfall (3.27”) was just a bit below normal while temperatures wound up a bit above normal. The 1.86 inches of rain I recorded at my station on Thursday, October 29, 2020 was my third wettest day of the year, only surpassed by the amounts of 1.91” on August 4 and 2.89” on April 13.  My October total precipitation is now 3.09” which is almost normal after what had been quite a dry month for the first 28 days of the month, and a year-to-date total of 44.36” which is already at about the normal yearly average…
