Cloudy, not quite as cold, featuring a light snow fall most of the daylight hours. It was a beautiful snow at times, just wafting down from the heavens, light as a feather, floating softly to coat most surfaces lightly. Thursday was very cold, sunny, with slowly lessening winds. My coldest min temperature of the season so far in the early AM (6.3°) was followed by daytime temperatures that mostly held in the teens, easily the coldest day of the year and season so far. Wednesday started out partly cloudy and briefly mild with temps reaching the above-freezing lower mid 30s by noon, then dropping all afternoon and evening through the 20s and 10s into the single digits by midnight, with below zero wind chills on brisk NW winds. Tuesday was cloudy and somewhat milder AM, then colder PM with light – moderate snow falling from about 1200-1800. 2.2″ of snow fell, painting a beautiful winter wonderland outside of my balcony window (see featured image). December 2018 was a bit warmer and wetter than normal, based on new normals for my station developed out of the PRISM program out of Oregon State Univ. My max temp (46.3°) was 1.1° above normal, my min temp (33.4°) was 5.2° above normal, and my mean temperature (39.9°) was 3.2° above normal.
