Much cooler, quite cloudy with heavy morning thunderstorms with serious flooding in the area on Monday, July 8 and drier, warmer, sunny skies on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 for West Rockville Maryland

Well with the tremendous flooding event on Monday morning, I got behind checking out all the reports and counting all the raindrops in my rain gauge (lol) so I have another 2 day somewhat condensed report for Monday and Tuesday. Also the All Star game and home run derby took up a bit of my spare time to catch the action.  At least Monday was a lot cooler, but early morning unusually timed and strong  storms that marched down I-270…

Hot and Humid on Friday July 5 and Saturday July 6 with Partly Cloudy  to Cloudy skies and occasional thunderstorms and then a bit cooler but Humid and Cloudy with light evening showers on Sunday, July 7, 2019 update for West Rockville Maryland

Well with the holiday weekend over, I find that I am two reports behind (Friday and Saturday), plus the one for this Sunday. So I will do my usual condensed version that will cover all 3 days.  Friday was almost as hot as Thursday and just as humid, but with only light showers (0.03 inches) during the partly cloudy afternoon.  We  managed to barely get over 90 in the later mid-afternoon after an early morning min in the lower mid 70s….

Hot and very humid once again with mid-afternoon thunderstorms update for the Fourth of July Thursday July 4, 2019 at West Rockville Maryland

Hot and very humid once again with mid-afternoon thunderstorms update for the Fourth of July Thursday July 4, 2019 at West Rockville Maryland

Fourth of July Thursday was as hot as Wednesday, but even more humid, with mid-afternoon thunderstorms (0.63 inches) that turned a partly cloudy day in the AM into a mostly cloudy one during most of the PM, which affected the visibility of the local evening fireworks shows. We did manage to get over 90 in the early afternoon before the clouds and storms rolled in around 1400 , but then dropped through the 80s and held in the mid-upper 70s…

A nice start to July – not as warm or humid, bright, sunny skies update for Monday, July 1, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland

A nice start to July – not as warm or humid, bright, sunny skies update for Monday, July 1, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland

July started out with a relatively pleasant start after a hot, humid ending to the month of June. Bright sunny skies, temps only reaching the mid 80s ending the 4 day streak of 90 or greater highs during the last 4 days of June was a great relief, along with lowering dew points into the mid 50s. Temperatures rose from the mid 60s in the early AM to the mid 80s by mid-afternoon. Temperatures eventually dropped later in the evening…

After a brief very early morning light shower, mostly sunny, not quite as hot or humid update for Sunday, June 30, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland

After a brief very early morning light shower, mostly sunny, not quite as hot or humid update for Sunday, June 30, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland

After a brief very early morning shower (0.04″) most of Sunday was mostly sunny, a bit less hot or humid but still a rounded high temp of 90 degrees (89.9 degrees actually) that gave me a modest streak of 4 straight days of 90 degrees or more to wind up the month of June with a total of 5 days of 90 or more. Temperatures rose from the upper 60s in the early AM to around 90 degrees by mid-afternoon.  Eventually…

Partly sunny, hot and humid update for Friday June 28 and Saturday, June 29, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland

Partly sunny, hot and humid update for Friday June 28 and Saturday, June 29, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland

I got busy then crashed Friday night so I missed posting the report for Friday until now when I will combine the information with Saturday’s report into this post. I also got my grocery order on Friday and played rummikub, so I was kind of tied up with those activities for a good part of Friday, which is probably why I crashed out early. Both Friday and Saturday were partly cloudy, quite hot and humid with risks of storms both…

Partly sunny, hot and humid update for Thursday, June 27, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland

Partly sunny, hot and humid update for Thursday, June 27, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland

Thursday was a partly cloudy, quite hot and moderately humid day .  Clouds moved in during the late afternoon/early evening as storms moved into the area, but missed my immediate location to the west, mostly over northern Virginia. We had a severe thunderstorm warning posted for the late afternoon, but that storm moved straight south from west of Frederick and broke up a bit as it moved into northern Virginia. Temperatures rose from the lower 70s in the early AM…

Partly sunny, hot and humid update for Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland

Wednesday was a partly cloudy, hot and moderately humid day Temperatures rose from the mid 60s in the early AM to the upper 80s to around 90° by mid afternoon then “cooling” off to the mid 70s. A gradual dew point temperature rise all day helped to make things a bit more humid by early afternoon.
