Partly cloudy, cold, drying out update for West Rockville Maryland on Thursday, March 8 2018
On Thursday, we had partly cloudy skies and slightly colder temperatures with a bit of a breeze at times. A clear, colder evening, with temps falling below freezing before midnight obs, then holding that way during the overnight hours into Friday. Low 40s were reached mid-afternoon before later cooling back into the 30s kicked in. The Thursday maximum temperature from the VP2 (41.3°) was recorded at 1603 while the minimum temperature (30.7°) was recorded at 0628. Dew point temperatures dropped off, ranging from a high of 26° at 1727 down to a low of 17° at 1326. Relative humidity values lowered considerably all day (71% – 40%). Barometric values stayed a bit low all day from yesterday, ranging from a high of 29.90″ at 0711 down to a low of 29.79″ a bit later at 1511.
Remember now you can get the VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444.
I am posting daily to weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time. I contribute daily to cocorahs as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115. Please remember that Weather Underground does not report snow data, and reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge.
I got up in the early afternoon so I could get ready for trivia in Building A at 1530. My sister Deryl called me from Michigan on face-time around 1300 and we got caught up on things. Trivia went well and on the way back to my building I managed to snap a picture of a fuzzy cumulus cloud looking north around 1745 from the parking lot between the buildings. I posted a GLOBE observation with the picture shown as our featured image today.
It was partly sunny and cold on Thursday, with highs in the low 40s and lows around 30°. Mostly sunny and cold on Friday, with highs in the mid 40s and lows in the mid 20s. Sunny and a bit milder on Saturday, with highs in the upper 40s and lows in the mid 20s. Sunday looks to have partly cloudy skies returning with highs in the mid 40s and lows in the upper 20s. Monday should be partly cloudy and cold with high temps in the mid 40s and lows in the mid 20s with only a 20 POP as our next potential storm track looks to be missing our area to the south. Tuesday should be mostly cloudy with highs in the low 40s and lows in the mid 20s. Normal highs and lows now are in the low-mid 50s and low 30s.
