A partly cloudy, warm, humid weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Saturday September 16 2017
Saturday warmed under partly cloudy skies. Temperatures rose to the 80° mark with lows in the mid 60s. Dew points were reached 70° but were in the 60s most of the day. Now at 0732 we have clear skies with temperatures in the mid 60s with dew points also in the mid 60s. No fog being observed despite the air temperature/dew point temperature combination. The Saturday minimum temperature from the VP2 in the shelter on the ground below my balcony (64.3°) was recorded at 0527 while the maximum temperature (80.2°) was recorded at 1609. Dew point temps remained rather flat similar to yesterday, ranging from 63° to 70°. Relative humidity values were a bit higher than yesterday (96% – 64%). Barometric values rose a bit from yesterday, ranging from 30.09″ at 1844 up to 30.16″ at 0946.

I rose in the mid-afternoon in time for the 1530 start to the Wisconsin Badger football game against Brigham Young University out in Utah. I took a needed shower before the game, which was delayed due to the length of the previous game that was also being televised on ABC. The Badgers thoroughly dominated the game, winning 40-6 for a very enjoyable experience by this dedicated Badger fan. I had a late brunch of cereal, a banana and coffee. I caught up with Tracy on her way to work in around 1630. I caught up some on my email and facebook messaging before dinner. I reheated the rest of the spaghetti and meatballs to which I added the remaining left over skirt steak and portobella mushrooms, chopped up to blend in better with the mixture. I added some shredded cheese which melted very nicely and made for a nice consistency. Later I had some chocolate chip cookies for dessert. I spoke with Ray in the later evening about weather forecasting topics and the upcoming NFL pro football games on Sunday. I watched more football during the evening, and the usual late night fare. I also caught a bit of the most excellent Yankee 9-3 victory over the Orioles. I had some spicy low-sodium V8 juice right around dinner time, and plenty of water and vitamins throughout the evening.
We now have clear skies with a high cloud overcast with temperatures in the mid 60s at 0732 Sunday. Many areas in the region are foggy but not here. Sunday should feature partly cloudy skies with high temps in the low 80s with lows in the mid 60s and a 40 POP for rain. On Monday sunny with scattered clouds at times with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the lower-mid 60s with only a 20 POP for rain as Hurricane Jose appears to be tracking further out to sea and minimizing its effects in our immediate area. Scattered fair weather clouds should continue to dominate our weather on Tuesday and Wednesday and humid, with highs in the low 80s and lows in the lower-mid 60s.
On Weatherbug at 0732 the radar is showing offshore of the Carolinas showers from Hurricane Jose and also there is a group of nearly stationary but growing in area intense showers/storms in central PA between Lancaster and Reading.
