A partly cloudy, warmer, humid weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Friday September 15 2017
Friday warmed under partly cloudy skies with no rain. Temperatures rose into the lower 80s with lows in the lower-middle 60s. Today was the first time since September 5th that we rose above the 80° mark, and only the second time all month (so far). Dew points were in the 60s all day. Now at 0545 we have clear skies with temperatures in the low to mid 60s with dew points around 60°. The Friday minimum temperature from the VP2 in the shelter on the ground below my balcony (63.2°) was recorded at 0631 while the maximum temperature (80.8°) was recorded at 1628. Dew point temps remained rather flat like yesterday, ranging from 61° to 68°. Relative humidity values were a bit lower than yesterday (93% – 57%). Barometric values rose from yesterday, ranging from 29.97″ at 0106 up to 30.11″ at 2356.

I rose in the mid-afternoon just in time for the 1500 rummikub game downstairs, ending a bit early around 1645. I returned upstairs to have a late breakfast of cereal, a banana and coffee. I caught up with Tracy on her way to work in around 1730, then Robin later on face-time with the usual Gideon bathtub entertainment and Robin updating me briefly on her new upcoming living situation. I caught up some on my email and facebook messaging before dinner. I made guacamole from the 3 avocados softening nicely on my counter to garnish 2 small “burgers” made of left over skirt steak, portobella mushrooms and cheddar cheese grilled on a bun along with some orzo salad. I spoke with Ray in the later evening about weather concerns over Hurricane Jose and the mid-September warm spell we seem to have started into today and for the next several days. I watched the most excellent Yankee 8-2 victory over the Orioles in the mid-evening time frame. I had some spicy low-sodium V8 juice right around dinner time, and plenty of water and vitamins throughout the evening.
We now have clear skies with temperatures in the low-mid 60s at 0545 Saturday. Saturday and Sunday should feature scattered to partly cloudy skies with high temps in the low 80s with lows in the mid 60s and only a 20 POP for rain both days. On Monday partly to mostly cloudy skies with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the mid 60s with a 40 POP for rain as Hurricane Jose draws closer to the mid-Atlantic coastline from the southern/eastern Atlantic.
On Weatherbug at 0545 the radar is mostly clear throughout most of the Eastern U.S. north of Florida and east of MN and IA.
