Labor Day Monday was a mostly sunny, warmer, increasingly more humid day (esp late) but with no rain. The high temperature for the day reached the upper 70s (a bit cooler than the low 80s as forecasted yesterday), with mid 50s in the early AM, dew points were in the mid 50s to mid 60s. Now at 0355 we have clear skies with temperatures in the upper 60s with dew points in the mid 60s. The Monday minimum temperature from the VP2 in the shelter on the ground below my balcony (56.1°) was recorded at 0659 while the maximum temperature (79.1°) was recorded at 1319. Dew point temps rose a bit today, ranging from 55° up to 67°. Relative humidity values were about the same as yesterday’s (97% – 53%). Barometric values dropped from yesterday’s values, ranging from 30.05″ at 0707 down to 29.85″ at 2157.

I rose in the midday hours to greet my cleaning engineer Loly, and to listen to the WeatherBuff show on the internet. I had cereal and coffee for a late brunch as Loly worked, and shipped up the place nicely in about 2 1/2 hours. I worked on getting my ride to my hearing tomorrow in Greenbelt lined up (texting/talking with Mike and Tracy), which after a few curve balls thrown at me I managed to get finished. I watched some college football and baseball action (Yankees beat the Orioles 7-4 YAY!!!). I also watched some of the Monday Night wrestling show. I signed up for a free football pool on Yahoo and made my picks on a CBSSports.com pick’em online game organized by my great friend Kris out in Kansas. I had a nice dinner of baked chicken thighs (partially frozen) in pyrex covered with foil, and yellow rice with scallions and mushrooms added and a few spices. Later on I had a few cashews for a snack. I had some prune and spicy low-sodium V8 juices right around dinner time, and plenty of water and vitamins throughout the evening.

We now have clear skies with temperatures in the upper 60s at 0355 Tuesday. Tuesday should be warmer with highs in the mid 80s and lows in the mid 60s with partly cloudy skies and a 60 POP for showers/storms. On Wednesday cooler temps with partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid 60s, lows in the mid 50s with a 70 POP for rain. Thursday and Friday should return sunny skies to the forecast with only a few scattered clouds at times, highs in the low 70s and lows in the mid 50s.

On Weatherbug at 0355 the radar is showing a wide line of FROPA showers and storms running ENE to WSW, cutting through the NW half of PA and western NY state at the present time. Movement appears to be ESE and should reach our immediate area sometime during the day on Tuesday. Major hurricane Irma is still well out in the Atlantic, a day or less from the Antilles, and tracking towards the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Cuba over the next few days. Models are generating tracks running all over the place, NHC forecasts should be consulted frequently to see what is transpiring in relation to our effects, if any, there will be in our region.

There was no rain recorded on Monday (cocorahs gauge – now located off the apartment property across the street from my initial two locations just off the inactive putting green – near the Montessori School playground. No sprinklers there at all on this county property).
