WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 24, 2021

My wrist discomfort bothered me a bit less today but I still have weakness with certain muscle movements/actions that was more troubling at times. Wearing the wrist
brace overnight and applied the Voltaren early today. Occasional back discomfort continued unfortunately. I still need to make tonight’s post shorter as I have been
the past week to somewhat reduce my typing efforts.

A short, really sad note from the local DC Weather world to repeat from yesterday. My friend Mark Richards tipped me about the unfortunate passing of long-time TV
meteorologist Doug Hill at his retirement home in North Carolina very recently. He broadcast TV weather on local TV stations WUSA 9 and WJLA 7 for over 30 years.
A really pleasant, gentle personality who was loved by all. He will really be missed by all. May he RIP.

Wednesday was partly cloudy, colder morning but slightly milder afternoon with a slackening of winds. I reached the mid 40s mark again for today’s high in the
mid-afternoon with dew points ranging from the upper teens in the very early morning up to the mid 20s by the late afternoon. Today’s low temperature was colder than
yesterday, in the mid 20s just before sunrise and the coldest minimum temperature so far this fall season.

The peak wind gust for the day (17 MPH) was lighter than yesterday, “peaking” again around midday, veering slightly to a W direction from yesterday. Barometric
pressures were highest in the morning hours while the lowest was reached in the late evening hours, just before midnight.

Thanksgiving Thursday should be milder and partly cloudy and dry with highs in the mid 50s and lows in the upper 30s. Friday should be the coldest day with highs
in the low-mid 40s especially due to increasingly windy conditions expected to develop behind a strong cold frontal passage. Over the weekend we should have partly to
mostly cloudy skies with highs in the mid-upper 40s, lows in the upper 20s to around 30 and dry. I am not so sure about those hints by some local meteorologists
yesterday that we might see our first snowflakes of the season over the weekend, particularly on Sunday. Stay tuned on that somewhat decreasing chance for possible
snow flurries in a few days!
