WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – SUNDAY OCTOBER 31, 2021
Happy Halloween as we say good-bye to October and greet the new month of November! Sunday was partly cloudy, a bit milder, but dry and quite a bit breezier than yesterday. I reached the mid 60s for today’s high with dew points staying in the 50s most of the day till dropping into the 40s in the evening. We peaked with our max temperature (64.4) of the day in the mid afternoon while the low temperature in the low 50s was reached in the morning about 1/2 hour before sunrise. Coastal (tidal) flooding has slowly receded along some sections of the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River.
The peak wind gust for the day (37 MPH) was quite a bit stronger than yesterday, peaking in the early afternoon hours, veering around to a more normal NW direction. Barometric pressures were highest in the late evening just prior to midnight while the lowest was reached in the very early morning overnight hours. Pressure values finally started to rise as that persistent trough slowly moved out of the area.
Monday should be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 50s and lows in the upper 30s. Cloudy skies on Tuesday with rain and cooler highs around 50 and lows falling through the 30s towards the freezing mark. Wednesday and Thursday should be partly cloudy to cloudy with highs around 50 and lows in the mid 30s. More cool rain expected on Friday with highs in the upper 40s and lows down around the freezing mark. Indeed with November now here there is definitely a real autumn chill to the air.
