WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 23 2021

My carpal tunnel syndrome/Arthritis stayed stable from yesterday, helped out again by good rest, Voltaren applications, and the liberal use of my wrist brace for better support. Only further future applications will tell the tale as I move on.

Thursday was cloudy in the AM, with heavy rain overnight accompanied by flood watches and warnings and a bit of distant lightning and thunder. Skies cleared partially by late AM into the afternoon with variable clouds coming in during the late afternoon. I reached the mid 70s for highs with dew points lowering from the low 70s at the
start of the day to the upper 40s by mid-evening. We peaked with our max temperature (73.9) of the day at the very start of the day down to the mid 50s by midnight for the day’s low at the very end of the day. The heaviest rain was generally noted overnight, with an unofficial max rain rate recorded on the VP2 station across the street of 1.76″/hour at 0437.

The peak wind gust for the day (24 MPH) was still moderately stronger during the start of the overnight heavier rain, “peaking” just after midnight, veering over to a S direction. Barometric pressures were highest near the end of the day while the lowest was reached overnight during the heavier rain.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday should be nice with partly to mostly sunny skies and highs of 70-75, lows in the low 50s and lower dew points than we have seen for a while.
