WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 3, 2021

Friday was another really nice, cool, beautiful day to follow yesterday’s similar conditions. The day was sunny, dry, and pleasantly cool. We reached the mid 70s for highs with dew points holding in the 50s all day. We peaked with our pleasantly cool max temperature (75.0) of the day in the late afternoon. The low temperature for the day (in the mid 50s) was reached in the morning just before sunrise.

The peak wind gust for the day (18 MPH) trailed off a bit from yesterday, peaking in the early afternoon, veering over to a NW direction. Barometric pressures were highest in the late morning while the lowest was reached in the very early morning hours just after midnight.

Saturday should warm up a bit to around 80 with partly cloudy skies and lows in the low 60s. Sunday looks cloudy now but without showers as predicted yesterday, with highs in the mid 70s and lows in the low-mid 60s. Monday and Tuesday should be partly to mostly sunny and dry, with high temps in the low 80s and lows in the upper 50s to low 60s.

Currently at 0145 AM EDT Saturday we have clear skies, a temperature of 62.1, barometer 30.10″ and steady, relative humidity 84%, dew point 57, winds E-SE 0-5 MPH. No rain has fallen since midnight into the tipping bucket VP2 gauge at the USG site across the street from me.

The attached image for today shows the look out my screened bedroom window to the east on Friday at about 1430 on 8/27 before the severe thunderstorm hit with menacing clouds building quickly.
